Reviews Summary

Diners praise Gold 'N Silver Inn for its generous portions and improvement in food quality, with many highlighting friendly and attentive service. While some note a decline in food quality in the past, recent reviews suggest a positive return to form. The classic diner atmosphere is a draw for many, though some find it lacks modern appeal. Coffee quality can be inconsistent, and occasional service lapses have been noted.

"Old fashion diner with great service and yummy food.

We were in Reno visiting family and had brunch there. It feels like an old fashion diner that brings me back to my college days. We were seated immediately and the service was great.

They serve you a very generous portion with quality on par with similar type of diners. Coffee is a little on the weak side but acceptable. I had steak and eggs but my son's rib eye was more tender and I recommend that. Biscuit and gravy is great definitely a high light.

A good casual diner that worth a visit."

"Came here despite not being sold on the atmosphere. The server was great, super friendly staff. The ribeye 14lb I had was the second best streak I've eaten out! (like no joke). The garlic fries where also amazing. A friend had peanut and banana milkshake was amazing!

Over all the staff, food taste and portion makes up for the lack of atmosphere. Highly recommend."

"It’s changed… for the better!

We used to go here regularly, but last year the food got steadily worse. However, we decided to try it again, and the quality has greatly improved! Our server, Reen, was friendly and efficient and Tomas made sure that our coffee was always full. The chicken fried steak is fabulous and even the signature chocolate pistachio cake is back its yummy goodness. (Okay, the weird aluminum serving pans instead of plates that they use for lunch are off-putting, but I can live with it if the food is good.) Overall, it seems to be back to the good, solid comfort food that it used to be. Between that and the fantastic staff, it’s a great place again!"

The first episode of Season 9, “Surf n’ Turf,” saw Fieri visiting the oldest casual dining restaurant in Reno, the Gold N’ Silver Inn. The longtime diner, bar, and casino has been serving up its personal twist on American classics 24 hours a day for 60 years. In the episode, Fieri tries the lemonade pork chops and calls them “flavor city.” He also enjoyed the tri-tip sandwich in a mahogany sauce.
