I had the pleasure of dining at Double Cut Steakhouse during my stay at Kalahari Resort, and overall, it was a solid experience. I ordered the ribeye steak with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and burnout mushrooms, and while the meal had some highs, there were also a few areas that could have been better.
The ribeye was cooked to medium rare as God intended, and had a great sear, locking in that rich, beefy flavor. The marbling made it tender and juicy, though I felt it could have used a bit more seasoning to enhance its natural flavors.
The mashed potatoes were creamy and smooth, with just the right amount of butter. They weren’t overly seasoned, but they paired well with the steak. The asparagus had a good char but was slightly undercooked for my taste—still crunchy rather than tender-crisp.
The burnout mushrooms were the most unique part of the meal. They had a deep, smoky flavor, but some pieces leaned a little too far into being burnt rather than caramelized. While they added an interesting contrast to the plate, I think a more balanced cook on them would have made them shine.
Service was attentive and friendly, and the ambiance was upscale yet comfortable. While I wouldn’t call it the best steakhouse I’ve ever visited, it was a satisfying meal, and I’d be open to trying more dishes on a return visit.

"Very first time at this steakhouse and it was great. A little pricey but it's a steakhouse. Food was amazing, service was great and they had live entertainment/ band. It wasn't too loud, nice gentle singing with all kinds of music. Lighting was dimmed and just in all felt very personal and attentive. I will definitely be back!!"

We tried escargot for the first time and were so pleasantly surprised! We finished with the wagyu steak and our server talked us into 3 incredible sides to pair with it!
