Reviews Summary
Rooster is a popular brunch spot praised for its creative crepes, French toast, and commitment to local ingredients. While many rave about the delicious food and cozy atmosphere, some diners experience significant wait times and inconsistent service, especially during peak hours.
"The PB&J Burger with goat cheese was easily one of my favorite burgers I’ve had. Tons of local ingredients and great accommodations to dietary restrictions. The serving sizes are great, and they make a delicious house-made tomato jam that I put on all of my food. They offer sugar-free syrup and pork alternatives. They also offer a 10% military discount.
Our server Ken did a fantastic job at making sure that we were doing well especially given the very long wait times. We waited about 30min to be seated on the morning of a Cardinals game, and the food took quite a while to get to the table. If you are looking for a quick bite I wouldn’t recommend.
All in all, we will definitely be back!"

"Just a block or two from the convention center it was a quick walk from there to meet some people for brunch.
Nice decor and atmosphere with that farmhouse touch to it. Lots of seating with a combination of booths, tables, and a large bar in the center with plenty of stools if that where you want to sit.
Food is good with some fun interpretations of classic dishes on the menu. I had a crepe that was savory and flavorful. One of our party ordered the French toast that was a decadent mound of sugary delight.
The help was attentive but not the most welcoming. Not rude but she could’ve smiled a bit more. It didn’t detract from the overall experience but a smile or two would’ve earned one more star for service.
Overall a pleasant experience."

"Birthday brunch! I always enjoy Rooster. This was my first time at this location. The food was on point as always. The staff was friendly however the food came out slower than anticipated. The tomato bisque made up for it though. The house made jam and ketchup complimented the food."

The speciality dishes come in the form of creative crepes and platters, like the spiced black bean pancake with salsa and eggs (bringing just a touch of Mexican flavor to the table) and the so-called Rooster Slinger, which mixes andouille sausage with all the usual breakie staples; toast, fried egg et al.
The Best Slingers in St. Louis
If one were to search the topography of slinger culture in St. Louis for an outlier, it would have to be the example served by David Bailey’s hip breakfast restaurant, Rooster, with locations Downtown and on South Grand. Bailey’s take on the St. Louis classic lurks (or bides its time, perhaps?) among a menu of savory crêpes and egg dishes, waiting to unleash a payload of hearty slices of toasted bread, crisp breakfast potatoes, spicy Andouille sausage, eggs and sausage gravy upon willing diners. If the take on a beloved standard sounds a bit fancier than normal, that’s because it is, unabashedly so, even.
