Reviews Summary

Flying Saucer Pizza Company is celebrated for its creative, sci-fi-themed pizzas and a welcoming atmosphere that caters to a wide range of dietary needs, including excellent vegan and gluten-free options. While many praise the unique flavors and fun experience, some reviewers noted that the food can sometimes take a while to arrive, and occasionally, specific toppings may be light.

"Our first time and Salem and we decided to stop in for a quick bite to eat! Mark was our waiter and he was super nice! He did accidentally spill our drinks but he was super apologetic; we had to laugh it off, what can you do? At least we'll have a story to tell 😂 the mocktails were amazing and the pizza was DELICIOUS. No pics of the pizza because we all couldn't wait to eat! We're from New Jersey and we can definitely say this pizza is delicious! I highly recommend stopping here if you're visiting 🍕"

"Take me to your Pizza Salem....When dealing with other worldly things...Flying Saucer Pizza is the place where I ended up landing. This Pizza joint is right behind the Elizabeth Montgomery statute astride a broom and framed by a moon crescent....anyways less moonwalking and more food talking. Myself and earthling approached the hostess. We were led indoors (There is an outdoor patio with black metal tables/chairs; which for you wishing to explore the sun...direct exposure)...So we were brought to our table where our server quickly got our drink order. I had a blue raspberry soda (made in Jamaica Plains, MA)...refreshing at A-, ...Earthling had a Charlie Temple....it was red. He rank it at a A-. We both had refills.

Pro tip, you can order half toppings. We were beyond thrilled because we got to try 4 pizzas for the price of two pizzas ($38). We ordered half a Pickle Rick, half Nick Fury, half Aubrey II, and half Klinger.

First though we had an appetizer. We had Hadouken! ... The only fireball or surge of fist was to my mouth. We picked two sauces. We elected for Red Sauce (Not gravy...perfect perry) which would make a nonna so happy!. But the really winning sauce was their scratch duck sauce. I could be fooled but it was outstanding with an absolutely 💯 👌 👏 🙌 ✨️ meatball. The order came with 5. Oh they offer vegan options! The meatballs were baked and fried....the meat mix was A+.

The pizza came out timely. Sooooo good. The crust was not overly thick, a nice char, no real flop, these are great pies. Stop digging for hidden layers and be impressed! I'm a pickle!". The Pickle Rick was my favorite. Olive Oil, lite cheese, bacon, pickles, and ranch made this pizza made for a great combo. This followed by the Nick Fury. Nick Fury entered my food'verse based on mac n cheese with Sriracha being two of the ingredients.....ooooofff....The Klinger was a deconstructed crab rangoon with duck sauce on a pizza. Solid A and so unique. The last pizza in my ranking was the Aubrey...and true to form as a nod to Little Shop of Horrors by being covered in argula. It was too busy...B+

All in all, the pizzas were fantastic. I am definitely coming back to try some other pies....oh annnnnnd they have dessert.

The atmosphere was light. Comfortable seating. Nice looking bar. The Disney movie, Oliver was playing. Lots of murals to look at. I was able to have a conversation. Wait staff was cool.

We crashed out at 64 plus 12 for tip. The tip was calculated on receipt for those who struggle with percentages.

We will definitely explore this place again. End of transmission. A PLUS"

"If you're looking for gluten-free options, The Flying Saucer is a must-visit. It has a calm atmosphere with the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. The food took a bit longer to arrive, but it was well worth the wait. The Gluten Free McFly was just as described and had great flavor. Although it was light on toppings, that helped keep the dish balanced. The crust, which can be tricky to achieve with a gluten-free base, had a good crispiness and was easy to fold! I would definitely recommend it to a friend."

From the “Spaceballs the Appetizer” (aka garlic knots) to the many specialty pies, the menu abounds with nerdy references: The “Audrey II,” for instance—covered in arugula, roasted red peppers, and balsamic fig glaze—nods to the hungry plant of Little Shop of Horrors. But you can also build your own pizza using ingredients like Cajun-style chicken, hot honey, ranch, and a ton of vegan alternatives. Dietary restrictions welcome: Everything at Flying Saucer is nut-free, and gluten-free pizza crust is available.

The Witch City is known for its, ummm, oddities and this somewhat off kilter pizzeria next to the Bewitched statue in town fits the bill. Though not a vegan establishment per se, Flying Saucer usually has more than a half dozen vegan options including the Hog of Steel, Pickle Rick, the Nick Fury, and our personal favorite, the Mars Attacks with olive oil and garlic, vegan mozzarella, vegan meatballs, and a delicious red sauce that has its own kick to it.

Vegan Eats and Options in Salem, Massachusetts (including THE BEST VEGAN PIZZA EVER!)

First up, this glorious monstrosity is the all vegan BEAST BOY pizza from Flying Saucer Pizza Company at 118 Washington St, Salem, MA 01970, USA. Caitlin (me) hasn't stopped dreaming about this pizza since devouring half of that bad boy in August. Seriously, she dreams of it every night and day and just cried because it looks like it's no longer on the menu though there still are some other vegan options.
