Reviews Summary

Goodnight Fatty is celebrated for its incredibly warm, soft, and uniquely flavored cookies that often live up to the hype. The creative atmosphere and friendly service contribute to a positive experience, though some find the cookies overly sweet or the prices a bit high. It's a highly recommended stop for dessert lovers in Salem.

"These cookies lived up to the expectations! The fact that they are served warm really adds up. Liked the texture which is on the softer side with a bit of crisp at the edges. The flavors are unique and original, I'm only sorry I will probably won't get to come back soon and try more of it. I love the fact that a place choose to make only one thing and does it really well, makes me appreciate it more."

Loved my first experience at Goodnight Fatty! There is a rotating set of cookies each month and each of them look delicious! We got the Campfire and Drumstick fatty and it was still warm and delicious. The staff was nice and the shop was super cute!

Can’t wait to go back and try more!"

Brittney Ma

"I was definitely very excited for this place as we missed it last time we were in town. It was a little bit of a let down for me. Others in my party thought they were good but so sweet that half a cookie was enough. One bite was good enough for me. I was not sure what to order, and I don’t feel the employees helped as much as they should have. Very unenthusiastic to say the least. We were there on a Friday, wasn’t too busy, but my excitement quickly died to just an ok place to visit in Salem."

7 Spooky Fall Things To Do With Kids In Salem, MA

We never actually got to go to Goodnight Fatty’s because the line was so long it wrapped around the block – that’s how good it is. But my brother and sister-in-law and their friends all rave about the weekend pop up joint that sells the most amazing cookies and soft-serve ice cream. And judging by the smell alone, their cookies must be nothing short of heaven. Part of their charm is that they’re only open on the weekends, and only in the evening (after 5 on Friday and Saturday, after 2 on Sunday), selling rotating concoctions you can’t get anywhere else, like frosted animal cracker cookies, peanut butter and Reese’s Pieces cookies, and your traditional cookie staples.

When I visited, Goodnight Fatty was a late-night cookie “speakeasy” open only on the weekends, in an unmarked storefront down a creepy-looking alley. They’ve since moved to a storefront near the Salem Witch Museum, and are open in the morning for breakfast “chubbies” and afternoon and evening for small-batch treats, including vegan flavors, and cooies with soft-serve ice cream. Speaking of cold treats, Melt serves a dozen-plus homemade ice cream flavors (including vegan), and usually has a line snaking around the block.

If there’s a better name for a cookie than a “fatty”, we have yet to discover it. Every weekend, Goodnight Fatty offers a new line up of cookie flavors, which remain secret until you order and are only available after 6pm. To enjoy one (or more!) of their fatties, you can walk up to their counter, order online for pickup, or request a Fatty Drop (you know, what boring people call delivery).
