What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Finca is praised for its charming ambiance, particularly its beautiful ivy-covered patio, and its authentic Spanish tapas. While many dishes are lauded, some reviewers noted minor inconsistencies in preparation or ingredient choices. The cozy atmosphere and attentive service contribute to a delightful dining experience, though some found the silverware to be of lesser quality.
"An old friend said we should go to here and we loved it! We had dinner outside on the red brick patio where ivy grew all around.
To start, we got the ceviche made with halibut, citrus, jalapeno, cucumber, and fresh herbs, with house made tortilla chips
Next, we tried the patatas bravas. They were so crispy and well seasoned.
The bravas sauce was so creamy with just the right heat to it and perfect with the crispy potatoes. The aioli was good too, but the bravas sauce is where it's at.
For our main dish we shared a Paella de Valenciana. I would describe this dish as being a true comfort food. It's flavorful and not too heavy, and there was plenty for two to share and take some leftovers home.
We ordered an apple chimichanga for dessert. While it was good quality, it was not a favorite for us."

"I love this location and every small restaurant that has this location. The patio is lovely when weather permits. Finca has a wonderful paella, papatas bravas, and the halibut is outstanding. I loved the tapas and look forward to returning. Next time I will eat family style."

"This place is magnificent, with a very harmonious and peaceful atmosphere, good music and a good vibe. The food is exquisite (the mushroom toast and shrimp ceviche were appetizers, and I enjoyed the other dishes, like the seafood paella). I highly recommend it and will return to try other Spanish dishes."

Finca, a spanish tapas bar in Sugar House, lays claim to Scott Gardner, the best mixologist in Salt Lake City according to the local authority, Salt Lake Magazine. Known for his connection with cocktails from a bygone era, Scott serves up a few complex pre-prohibition-era classics like the Clover Club (gin, lemon juice, house grenadine and an egg white) or a simple shot of a Van Winkle 12-year. But don't limit him to what's on the menu.

They have the usual suspects like pan con tomate and patatas bravas, but we recommend kicking things off with the wood-roasted mushrooms or cauliflower. The best small plate is the shrimp swimming in a broth made of brandy and garlic, which is so good you’d happily jump into an actual ocean of it.
