Discovered 'Our Special Place' here in San Angelo: Fuentes Cafe Downtown! ❤️ The vibe is just perfect for hubby and me. Matthew got a bean & cheese burrito (extra cheese!), I got a shredded chicken quesadilla (no sour cream!), and we shared the best fried zucchini. Plus, my drink was delicious! Honestly, if you're looking for great food, you HAVE to go to Fuentes Cafe! What's your go-to order? #Fu...

"A class act in a remodel/renovation!

Olivia and John have done an amazing job with making the restaurant feel both open and inviting. The front room can serve as a private event space and/or meeting room.

Service was amazing- all staff were very attentive and pleasant. Food came out very quickly, and always hot. But the guiso burrito? Divine, soft, succulent, but at the same time not heavy. I don’t know how they did it, but that is how I want all my burritos to be from now on.

Please pay them a visit!"

"Fantastic service! Our waitress was attentive but not overbearing. The food was hot, wonderful, and melt in your mouth delicious! As a San Angelo native, I will be back again and again!"

"I have been to San Angelo a thousand times each of my adult years(which is a lot) and I can’t understand why I have never tried this place until now.
This is very good food. Fresh, hot and fast , I couldn’t believe how authentic it was.
The hot sauce had a good “bite to it”, the beans had great flavor and the enchilada sauce was as authentic as it comes. The rice wasn’t my favorite but I didn’t care. I could do without the Guiso Burrito next time. Although the meat was extremely tender, it was very big chunks and over seasoned for my taste. The two fresh homemade tacos made this a perfect lunch.
As good as the food was, the service was better. Our waitress was tremendously nice and attentive. She was always “Jonny on the spot” , drinks were never empty and checked on us the entire visits. What a great attitude.
I was here for a work lunch break, I can’t wIt to bring the wife here, she will love it."

We love the authentic decor and warm welcome that we always receive when we eat at this family-run cafe restaurant. We will almost always start with the Cincos Nachos, which come smothered in cheese, guacamole, and jalapenos. Then it’s a hard choice as the menu is packed full of delicious-sounding dishes.

Fun things to do in San Angelo

A local told me the Angry Cactus was the place to be, but the line was out the door on my visit so I had my dinner at Fuentes Cafe. The food was excellent and it was a decent bar. I decided to check out the hippy western dance hall The House of FiFi DeBois.

Restaurants in San Angelo

Maybe I'm picky, but I don't care for the "usual" San Angelo spots like Fuentes, Zentner's Daughter, Twin Mountain Steaks, etc. For dessert, TJ's froyo can't be beat, even in a bigger city!
