Reviews Summary

Dorrego's offers an elegant ambiance and a unique Argentine dining experience along the Riverwalk, praised for its exceptional service and flavorful dishes like empanadas and prime rib. While some find the food decent but not groundbreaking, the intimate atmosphere and attentive staff, particularly highlighted by specific servers, create memorable occasions. Inconsistencies in service, especially during breakfast, and value for money are occasional concerns.

"If you’re looking for exquisite cuisine with wonderful ambience, excellent service and an overall outstanding experience, this is the restaurant to visit. The flavor profile of each of the dishes were notably some of the most delicious I have ever tried.

Esther took wonderful care of us and even took the time to let us know the story behind the decor of unique pieces from Oaxaca."

"Dorrego’s at Hotel Valencia has a beautiful setting with an elegant and inviting ambiance, making it a pleasant place to dine or have a drink. However, the service can be inconsistent—sometimes you’re greeted by a friendly and attentive staff, while at other times, especially during breakfast, the service feels unenthusiastic or indifferent. This inconsistency extends to the bar as well.

The food is decent but not particularly memorable, and the drinks are average. While the atmosphere adds to the experience, the overall impression could be greatly improved with more consistently engaged and welcoming service."

Alejandro (AlejOpinion)

"Easter brunch was delightful but just okay. Service was exceptional, salads were enjoyable, prime rib was undercooked and I love prime rib, desert choices were great. Seafood was okay, oysters not kept cold but the crab was excellent. Guitarist was phenomenal! All in all an enjoyable experience but overpriced."

If you’ve already had your enchiladas and margaritas on the River Walk and are looking for something a bit more luxurious, try the very good steaks and hearty Malbecs with a river view at Dorrego’s. The Argentinian-inspired menu includes empanadas, choripán (chorizo in a mini baguette), the famed melted cheese called provoleta and a paella that holds its own against other restaurants—and good home-cooked versions, too. Unlike other spots on the river, the vibe here stays intimate and relaxed, even when the tables are filled.
