Reviews Summary

Pomegranate is celebrated for its authentic and flavorful Russian-Georgian cuisine, with many praising dishes like khinkali and borscht. The cozy, candlelit atmosphere and friendly service contribute to a warm dining experience. However, some patrons have noted that service can be inconsistent, and parking in the area can be challenging.

"Continues to be a favorite! Delicious and most importantly - consistent! Can’t go wrong with several dishes but our favorites are the golubtsi (cabbage rolls) and sampler platter which is great for 2 people. Don’t forget to try Georgian wine and beer or the vodka flight. Friendly staff and unique atmosphere."

Breana McGowan

"This was our first foray into Russian cuisine. It was a refreshig surprise!
The food was very tasty, and the service was great.
The atmosphere was lively, and the portions were generous!
The only complaint is parking can be tough, and inside dining space is tight."

Dan Samilo

"This was my first time trying Georgian cuisine, and I’m absolutely blown away! Everything — from the khachapuri to the salads and the Georgian wine — was top-notch. The flavors were incredible, and you can truly feel the heart and tradition in every dish. The atmosphere was cozy, and the service was excellent. Thank you for such a wonderful introduction to Georgian food — I’ll definitely be back and bringing friends!"

The 25 Best Restaurants In San Diego - San Diego

With mismatched paintings and walls scrawled with messages from past diners, this Russian restaurant has the allure of a secret hideaway—if you ignore the crowd waiting patiently on the sidewalk outside. Once you're seated with a Moscow mule in hand, go ahead and order the classics: beef stroganoff, bright pink borscht, and adjaruli, a Georgian bread boat that comes out with a young Russian man who will mix the gooey cheese and egg yolks together in front of you. Bring a Sharpie to add your own graffiti to the wall.

Pomegranate Russian-Georgian Restaurant - North Park

The welcoming atmosphere at Pomegranate is as hearty as its Eastern European fare. Rather than a tuxedoed maître d’ escorting you to your table, you’re more likely to experience a congenial, open-armed invitation from across the room to come in, sit down, and be fed. The restaurant’s modest mauve, pomegranate red, and melon-colored façade with its lavender overhang, large picture windows, and neon “open” sign beckon neighbors and passersby to stop in for dinner.
