Diners love the attentive service, the timeless ambiance, and signature dishes like cioppino and crab cakes. "Had a great meal at Tadish Grill! The oysters were fresh, the cocktails were top-notch, and both the grilled dishes and pasta were really tasty. Everything was well-seasoned and cooked just right. The service was also excellent! super friendly and attentive staff. Definitely a place I’d come back to!"

"Tadich grill found it on Google. Wanted to check out the oldest restaurant in California able to walk in on a Saturday night about six got a table in 10 minutes. The atmosphere and ambience is unique and a great experience. Service is very good. We ordered a fire grilled halibut steak and prime rib. The food unfortunately was just OK. I will give props to the cheesecake. Excellent slice."

Dave Tafoya

"We had an amazing dinner at Tadich Grill, our server James made sure we had everything we needed and gave us good recommendations, the Tadich platter is a must try.

Something we really appreciate is we never felt rushed as you are in other restaurants in the city, so we could really take our time and enjoy our dinner. We’ll be back soon."

The 20 Best Seafood Restaurants In San Francisco - San Francisco

The oldest continually running restaurant in California makes crab cakes we would e-scooter across town blindfolded to get our hands on. Crispy outside, packed with a generous helping of crab, and doused in tartare sauce, these little stunners alone are worth the trip. We also come to this Financial District institution for their loaded cioppino and plates of grilled fish, the free hunk of sourdough, and an old-school setting complete with servers in white coats, and a bar that’s so long you can barely see the end.

18 Iconic Restaurants in San Francisco, California

Few restaurants more than 150 years old can be called trendy, but in innovation-crazy San Francisco, there is novelty in the classics, and Tadich Grill is the classic. The late Chronicle columnist and unabashed San Francisco-lover Herb Caen was also a frequent visitor. There’s a martini named after him, made with vodka, or as he called it, Vitamin V. The serious nature of the restaurant’s wood paneling, brass fixtures, and waiters in starched white aprons is matched by the food.
