Reviews Summary
XUNTOS offers an exceptional Spanish tapas experience with delicious and creative shareable plates, making it a favorite for many. The cozy ambiance and delightful cocktails complement the flavorful food, though some diners have noted occasional lapses in attentive service.
"Absolutely exceptional!
Xuntos has become a fast favorite of mine. With exciting shareable plates and creative cocktails, this combination is sure to wow your palate.
We recently took my mom for her birthday dinner, and the charming pink scallop shell theme was the perfect backdrop for the celebration.
We tried lots of different dishes and shockingly did not break the bank.
Two specials we tried where stuffed dates and artichoke hearts, delicious. The menu regulars we ordered were the jamon (do not skip this), garlic shrimp (you’re going to want to drink the sauce, so ask for extra bread in advance), squid ink pasta, arugula salad, and lemon/champagne/vodka dessert.
The drinks were also a delight, with the Calimoxto being the table’s favorite surprise of the night and the Gin Tonic a coming in a close second.
All in all we had a ball! Definitely proud to see this restaurant fairing well, in the often crowded Santa Monica food scene. 10/10 recommend."

"Xuntos is one of our FAVORITE restaurants and BY FAR our FAVORITE TAPAS restaurant in LA. We have been many times and it continues to deliver. We are foodies and love discovering new spots but keep returning to show our friends and family.
Vibe: the best and in a league of it’s own. Thankfully, not the ultra trendy insta spot that everyone knows about and is impossible to get in. It’s more like a dining experience at a regular aka exceptional tapas spot in Spain.
Drinks: we LOVE Scott the sommelier. Describe your favorite wine and he’ll bring you something better. We also love their cocktails. G&T is a classic and theirs is incredible.
Food: so fun and so delicious! WE LOVE (I’m just going to use English):
Anchovy on butter bread (and I normally hate anchovy’s)
Croquettes de jamón
Caramelized onion & truffle toasty
Octopus with chorizo & potato puree
Garlic shrimp
Fried eggplant chips
Wagyu steak + papas bravas
Dessert: almond cake with honey whipped cream (not usually my thing but TRUST)
Chupitos!!
Off menu: obsessed with their sliders with crispy jamón (available sometimes on the bar menu) and the fried artichoke which the chef sent complimentary <3
Above categories are in no particular order and ranked 11/10"

"I went here during the week for a late dinner. We wanted something more upscale than the Santa Monica Pier. And we found it! We ordered several different items to share and they were all really tasty. The stuffed peppers were cold which I was not really expecting but the flavor worked together and the fried eggplant was absolutely delicious. The meat dishes were also good."

25 Best Restaurants in Santa Monica For Oceanside Eats
L.A.’s Spanish dining scene is fairly lackluster, but this Santa Monica tapas bar serves a decent enough selection of traditional bar bites from Asturias, Catalonia, the Basque region and Galicia, where chef-owner Sandra Cordero spent her childhood summers. Pronounced “chuntos” (which means “together” in the Galician dialect), the restaurant offers hallmarks like patatas bravas and croquetas de jamon alongside harder-to-find items like bikinis (tiny grilled cheese sandwiches), tuna empanadas (served in slices, unlike the ones in Latin America) and whole fried anchovies. Not every dish will impress Spanish food snobs, but Westsiders are already flocking to the lofted dining room for calimocho (red wine and Coca-Cola) and a well-appointed list of Spanish cocktails, sherries, wines and vermouths.
The 6 Best Spanish Restaurants In LA - Los Angeles
Xuntos is home to the best tapas experience in LA and is one of the places we’d insist on for a fun, off-the-cuff dinner in downtown Santa Monica. Most shareable dishes cost between $15 and $20, so groups can explore the region-spanning menu without breaking the bank. It’s also a sneakily easy place to linger, so order a bottle of chilled albariño for the table and make the rounds on dishes like crumbly Galician tuna empanadas, Cantabrian anchovy toasts, and grilled Basque squid stuffed with shallots and minced scallops.
