Reviews Summary
Scoma's of Sausalito is lauded for its exceptionally fresh seafood, stunning bay views, and attentive service, creating a memorable dining experience. While many rave about dishes like Dungeness crab and clam chowder, a few reviews mention minor issues with specific dishes or pricing discrepancies. Overall, it's considered a top choice for a special occasion or a day trip destination, with most diners eager to return.
"We had a great meal at this iconic seafood spot located on a small wharf jutting out into the bay on a cool and drizzly Saturday in April.
While we were hoping for more hospitable weather so as to enjoy the view, San Francisco’s notoriously climate pushed in some light rain.
Nonetheless, we arrived early for our 6:45 reservation and were very pleased to be seated in the prime part of the restaurant-a porch like area all the way at the end surrounded on three sides by windows. With large mirrors on the walls, everyone has a view to the water. This part of the place seats maybe 20 people. There’s another larger area in the center with windows on two sides but you’ll want to try to get these prime spots if you can.
This place is bustling and the efficient waiters are constantly filling water glasses and bringing food and clearing tables. The menu focuses on seafood.
We had had a big lunch so decided to do salads and appetizers. Both The arugula pear salad and the special gem salad were fantastic-fresh and flavorful. The Dungeness crab cakes and Spanish style shrimp (Gambas) were also wonderful. I’m a sucker for good sour dough bread and theirs didn’t disappoint. Toss in a couple of glasses of Grgich hills fume blanc and it’s just about my perfect meal in the Bay Area.
Well done."

"Food was amazing, had fresh Calamaris and clam chowder soup for appetizer, Dungeness crab spaghetti for main--everything was flavorful and you can tell the freshness. Service was great, walked in did not have a reservation (I DO NOT RECOMMEND, GET RESERVATION WHEN YOU CAN), still catered to my little family and sat us by the bar. The hostess was very accommodating, and the rest of the waitstaff were 10/10."

"Beautiful setting for any occasion! Friendly staff. Excellent menu. We enjoyed the white clam chowder, crab and shrimp cakes, and sole and lobster risotto mains. Hubs drank the California old fashioned. It came with the large ice he likes. Our waiter took our picture with the tiramisu decorated plate. Lovely dining experience."

What to Do in Sausalito | 17 Amazing Activities!
The service was exceptional, and the food — whole steamed crabs, grilled seasonal fish, rich chowders — was seasonal and fresh. We ordered two appetizers: the beet salad with arugula, chevre, citrus, avocado, fresh mint, Marcona almonds, and a balsamic vinaigrette with shaved horseradish; and the oysters Sausalito baked with garlic, spinach, and creamy Parmesan. I live in Kansas City, so I’m always craving fresh seafood.
