So down the street to Goose Feathers Café we went, where we loaded up on bagels, pastries and coffee to get us through our morning walk. Our day officially started with Jonathan Stalcup, SCAD grad who has been giving architectural tours of Savannah since 2004. We have a lot more to say about this awesome activity, so I’ll save that for its own dedicated post, but our guided walk ran from 10 to nearly noon and covered 300 years worth of Savannah history, as well as a handful of the city’s 24 squares. Jonathan’s tours run most days of the week at 10am for just $30 a person.

I’ve never had a whoopie pie before and when I dug into the history, I came up with more questions than answers.

We got breakfast from Goose Feathers Cafe and we loved everything about it. You order from the counter and they bring the food out to you. My mom had the most delicious asiago bagel breakfast sandwich (she let me try a bite), and I got a cinnamon bun which was so warm and gooey with tons of frosting.

The Goose Feathers Cafe has a wonderful selection of freshly made breakfast treats and good coffee and espresso drinks. We enjoyed the covered outside patio, especially since we had our dogs and it was raining. Another great, unique thing about Goose Feathers is they deliver, on a bike.
