Enjoy elevated fish-shack food with yacht-rock vibes at this former marina where many of the patrons arrive by water. Order at the counter for a fresh catch of the day prepared perfectly; pair it with flavorful sides like crispy chicharrones and skillet okra. The craft cocktail set will find their thirst slaked with the famous Pain Killer Slushie, though no one will look at you sideways when you order just a good ole cold beer.

Perched on the edge of the Herb River, The Wyld Dock Bar is framed by the peaceful salt marsh. Some folks come to unwind at one of two outdoor bars—pain killer slushy in hand, of course—and listen to a local player pick some tunes. Families play cornhole as they await scallop corn fritters with habanero butter, salted watermelon and off-menu steamed prawns as big as sausages.

There's an outdoor bar overlooking the creek, plus string lights, fire pits and smells of the tidal flat. But the fact that you can boat right up makes this feel like an only-in-lowcountry moment. Known for its "Pain Killer" slushie and sangria, the drinks menu also has traditional spirits, wines by the glass, and mostly domestic (with some craft) beer.

Historic Downtown, Bona BellaFor a rum with a view (yep, we went there), drive east until you reach the gravelly end of Livingston Street. It doesn’t get much better than fresh air and fresher Hemingway daiquiris, overlooking a bright panorama of water and marsh. Plan to stay a while; as it lays outside to-go cup range.

Located right at the foot of the Savannah salt marsh, Wyld Dock Bar offers a unique dining experience like no other in Savannah. Feel like a true local by driving or boating up to the Wyld’s dock and soaking in the beautiful views and sounds of the estuary. Wyld’s atmosphere is equally as fun and fresh as the food.

This dock bar on Isle of Hope is a summer staple for Savannah residents, and I’m so glad our friend Susan took us there for a Sunday afternoon beverage our visit before last. The drive out is lovely, with Savannah’s iconic oaks and weeping Spanish moss draping across the roads, and I loved the Wyld’s casual, laid-back vibe, the lawn games and the dock that allowed you to people-watch as boats cruised by. Note: The Wyld is typically closed for maintenance a couple of months in winter, so check the site for updates before you head out there.

Sat on the banks of Country Club Creek, The Wyld Dock Bar is a local haunt for travelers looking to get away from downtown Savannah and get a taste of Lowcountry living. Get here by car or by boat and sip on one of their signature Painkillers or split a liter of sangria with friends around a firepit under twinkly string lights. (It’s enough to inspire us to want to listen to “Strawberry Wine” by Deana Carter.) The card-only bar also serves up bites like roasted garlic butter oysters, vegetable succotash and fried clam strips.

For art, history, architecture, and more, The Telfair Museums encompass three separate buildings. The Telfair Academy is a two-story mansion built in 1891 that houses a collection of nineteenth- and twentieth-century American and European art such as paintings, sculpture, and decorative arts. The Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters, which also dates back to 1819, offers guided tours that explore this former family home through the lens of the enslaved people who once worked there.

Much of the downtown is dominated by Savannah College of Art and Design, and the feel is notably less buttoned-up than Charleston, South Carolina, which is two hours north — Savannah is much more in the vein of New Orleans. Savannah’s sense of casualness extends to the restaurants as well — while there are some very nice spots to eat (obviously we’re going to Mashama Bailey’s two-time James Beard Award-winning restaurant, The Grey), most of our picks are more relaxed.

Trade in the crowded city center for some fresh air and enjoy locally sourced seafood and casual American fare along with peaceful river views. The Wyld Dock Bar is one of the best places to eat in Savannah if you’re looking for a laid-back lunch or dinner with a local vibe. Watch the boats float by and the sun go down over the river while you indulge in seasonal specialties such as the shrimp roll with tarragon mayo, adobo marinated fish tacos, or blue crab chowder.

4.6 ★While River Street is a widely sought after way to experience waterfronts here in Savannah, there are areas like The Wyld on Livingston Ave that provide spectacular, different views. A little off the beaten path, this restaurant is a hidden gem that is one of the best not-so-well kept secrets. Laid back, simple but packed with flavor, you can truly let your hair down at this waterside seafood restaurant.

The Wyld Dock Bar brought a unique experience to Savannah when it opened in 2015 – waterfront dining featuring elevated, innovative fresh seafood. The restaurant quickly became a favorite amongst locals, who congregate in the evenings to take in the view, play bocce and sip Painkiller Slushies around the fire pit. The seasonal menu changes frequently, but you can’t go wrong with the fresh seafood selections.

The Wyld is a waterside restaurant and dockside bar that offers unique menu items, like quail-and-rabbit sausage and local shrimp rolls, in addition to exceptional cocktails, making it one of the best places to drink in Savannah, GA. Though the slushies and sangria are the most popular drinks, more traditional drinks, like the Moscow Mule and Mai Tai, as well as draft beers, are also a staple on the menu.

A short drive from downtown Savannah, the Wild Dock Bar is one of our favorite restaurants to visit in Savannah with kids. With beautiful marsh views, and laid back vibes, its a beautiful place with all outdoor seating to escape the city and visit the real Georgia. Located right on the water, this restaurant has casual vibes where families can kick back and enjoy time together on a nice day.

Located in Southside on an estuary in the Moon River District, The Wyld is one of Savannah hidden gems– easily the best and freshest place to eat seafood in Savannah. As one of Savannah’s best seafood restaurants, the Wyld also has plenty of live music and open-air reverie. It’s a relaxed spot to enjoy farm-fresh cuisine and even fresher seafood, but don’t let the rustic environs fool you.

The vegetable manager at Canewater Farm had mentioned The Wyld as one of his favorite area restaurants, with the absolute freshest fish. We reworked our reservations schedule to ensure we could visit. Simple in concept, sited on a picturesque dock stretching along the meandering Herb River, the Wyld lies about a 15 minute drive southeast of Forsyth Park, and is well worth the drive.

If I could only visit three of these restaurants while visiting Savannah, I would pick The Atlantic, Local 11ten, and The Olde Pink House. As a resident of Savannah, I think many of the other restaurants on the list have better food overall than The Olde Pink House, however, it is a great experience if you have never visited Savannah before and offers a classic southern experience.

You’ll have to travel a bit out of Savannah’s Historic District for The Wyld Dock Bar, but it’s certainly worth it. The restaurant is off the beaten path a bit, but it has a great location on the marsh, making for some incredible views. As expected, The Wyld serves up primarily seafood dishes, but also if you prefer a burger or a taco, both options are available.

The Wyld Dock Bar offers seafood caught straight from the Georgia coast, ensuring the freshest flavors in every bite. Known for serving New American fare with a focus on seafood, this waterside hangout (located about 20 minutes south of downtown) has become a popular spot. While many locals will arrive by boat, visitors are welcome to drive and park. Their outdoor space features a waterfront deck, covered bar, comfy hammocks, and a fire pit.

Although Wyld is slightly outside of town, I wanted to include it because it’s pet and family friendly. The restaurant has an expansive — and mostly-enclosed — grassy area where kids and pets can play games to burn off some energy. The food is delicious, and the restaurant offers beautiful sunset views overlooking the marsh.

The Wyld Dock is a rustic wedding venue on a beautiful creek just south of Savannah State University. The laid-back, romantic vibes make for a lovely intimate lowcountry ceremony and reception. The restaurant’s dock is so beautiful and the perfect place to take your wedding portraits or even hold your ceremony!.

She took us to brunch at the Wyld Dock Bar, which turned out to be wildly popular and had been featured in Garden & Gun that very week. With bocce ball, a massive patio and a waterfront perch, it was easy to see why the Wyld is beloved by locals (and also prying tourists like myself).

The Wyld Dock Bar - Most people who know the scene around here would agree that The Wyld has become synonymous with outdoor dining in Savannah. One of the few waterfront venues in the entire city. The Wyld sits on the marsh with beautiful vistas particularly as the sun begins to dip.

Located on the outskirts of Savannah, The Wyld Dock Bar offers a stunning waterfront view and a menu full of fresh seafood. Their Oyster Rockefeller is a must-try, as well as their Lowcountry Boil. The Wyld Dock Bar is perfect for a romantic evening or a night out with friends.

Head to 2740 Livingston Road for dinner at The Wyld Dock Bar. This eatery, located on Country Club Creek, focuses on seafood and regional cuisine. Enjoy the breezes off the water from a bar table as you dig into fried okra and golden fried shrimp.

There's no reason to settle for less than what your appetite demands with The Wyld on your Savannah restaurant radar. Romantic waterfront vistas provide a feast for the eyes, while inventive seafood recipes offer a buffet for the taste buds.

With the exception of about three things I would recommend doing in Savannah (The Wyld Dock Bar, Wormsloe Historic Site and the Bonaventure Cemetery), pretty much everything else is within walking distance if you’re staying downtown.

Drinks like the Walk Before You Fly (gin, lemon, crème de framboise, lavender bitters) are a draw here. Savor one around the fire pit after feasting on Chef/Owner Tony Seichrist’s pistachio-chimi hummus and lemongrass snapper.

Drive or boat up to this dock-side restaurant, perfect during those warm months and try a fish taco or peach salad. This marshland is home to the occasional live local band, bocce ball, and those coming along to fish.

Why You Need To Go: You can find this restaurant off the beaten path and right on the water. People can literally drive their boats up to this spot and park dockside to get some of the freshest seafood in the city.

If you’re exploring Bonaventure Cemetery or Wormsloe Plantation, this is a good place to stop for a meal. Especially if you love fresh seafood!. Wyld Dock Bar is about 15-20 minutes outside of downtown Savannah.

This was by far our favorite restaurant we visited in Savannah – so much so that we went there twice (which is a rare occurrence for us on vacation). The menu is seafood focused, inventive, and casual.
