Reviews Summary

Homer is highly praised for its innovative Mediterranean-inspired small plates and its unique, flavorful soft serve desserts. Diners consistently highlight the friendly service and cozy ambiance. While many dishes receive rave reviews, some find certain items too sweet or not entirely to their taste, and the wait without reservations can be considerable.

"We came here in February and it’s undoubtedly going to be one of the best dining experiences of 2025. Kevin and Brian both provided amazing service and helped us navigate our courses, including a bottle of wine. Our favorite dish was the roasted cauliflower and the lamb, all the sauces were amazing, and the homemade sourdough was essential to dip in all the things. The only criticism I have is the butter knife was a little dull to cut cauliflower, so safe to say this was a 12/10 experience. There’s good and then there’s Homer good. Too scared to come back on the off chance it’s slightly less good."

"Delicious Mediterranean inspired food. We loved the dips and small plates more than the big plates. Everything is good to share so recommend going as a group so you can order more to try. Their soft serves were the best.

They only do reservations for parties bigger than 6 so be there 15-20min before opening time to ensure a table."

"Very small intimate restaurant! The service was great and friendly. We did have an 1hr wait (Friday night), so be prepared if you don’t have a reservation…but in the meantime we went to the little restaurant next door and got a drink and small bite…back to Homer..again it was a pretty small restaurant inside but had a pleasant atmosphere. Every table was full and laughter rang throughout. Since the tables were full we were seated at the bar. We saw their ice cream being made in front of us and it looked great! But didn’t insult because we went to Nana’s Green Tea for ice cream before all this lol. Opted for their famous pita to snack on and it did NOT disappoint. However, despite how good the Pita was it didn’t compare to the lamb chops…10/10. Best lamb chops I’ve ever had. Literally melted in my mouth and the side yams and overall presentation were also good. (Sorry for no picture…didn’t hesitate to dig in when I saw it). Will absolutely be coming back on a future trip to Seattle."

We love what Homer does with things that grow in the ground. We’re talking about things like squash with tangy fermented poblanos and fried bread in a garlicky almond broth, grilled beets with pomegranate molasses, poppy seeds, and green tahini, and delicious mezze like hummus and labneh. Show up with a group, order a bunch of small plates, and get extra plates of puffy pita—followed by swirls of homemade soft serve in flavors like popcorn or salted date.

Just down the street from another neighborhood favorite, Bar del Corso, is Homer: a Mediterrean-slash-Middle-Eastern focused restaurant named after the beloved dog of owners Logan Cox and Sara Knowles. Shared plates abound here, and post-meal soft serve is sort of a must, which you can score from the soft serve window just outside the restaurant (current flavors include preserved lemon, vegan sweet hibiscus, and the ultimate classic: swirl).

15 Places to Get Your Mediterranean Fix in Seattle

Logan Cox, previously the chef at Sitka and Spruce, has opened a neighborhood restaurant on Beacon Hill that puts out some of the most vivid flavors in the city right now. The rugged ease of dishes large and small belies the deliberate hours of stewing, grinding, and roasting that transform something as humble as meatballs into a kefte-inspired monument amid a pool of sauce—tomato and fried fruits, cinnamon and yoghurt whey, reduced for hours into something so rich it’s more syrup than sauce. Homer dedicates a menu section to things one might spread on saucer-size pitas, which arrive at your table almost too hot to touch, soft interior still puffed up with hot air from the dome oven in the corner of the open kitchen.

The 15 Best Restaurants in the Seattle Area 2024

Remembering a meal at Homer is more of a sentimental warmth than a keen recollection. The menu is built around shareable Mediterranean mezzes that change all the time and become a big blur of roasted cauliflower and pistachio dip and olive-oiled chickpeas and goat cheese and pickled beets and sardines. You bring four or five of your friends and order all these little dishes, and they bring you a steady stream of slightly charred bread straight out of the wood-fired oven, and you and your pals just go to town.
