What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Blue Cow Grille is praised for its flavorful and unique dishes, including delicious burgers, sandwiches, and crispy pork rinds. Diners often highlight the fun, laid-back atmosphere and attentive service. However, some reviews mention significant price increases and occasional inconsistency in food quality, with one diner noting cold fries and microscopic bacon.
"Blue Cow Grill in Southport, NC, is known for its excellent food, including their crispy pork rinds with a tangy vinegar dip—a simple yet tasty snack. Another standout is the "Sorry Charlie" fish burger, made with sushi-grade tuna that’s fresh and perfectly cooked, offering a flavorful and satisfying bite.
While the food is top-notch, you might experience a bit of a wait as they focus on online orders. Parking can also be a bit challenging, especially during busy times. Still, the quality of the food makes any minor inconvenience well worth it."

"We have visited Blue Cow many times and the main thing that brought us back was the fresh squeezed lemonade! The lemonade is still great, however it used to be sold with one refill only. On our visit last Friday it is now per glass, no refill. For $4.75 per glass, it is still good, but we will probably pass next time. Actually, we will probably pass in general and try another place when in the mood for a burger. Both of our burgers were just ok and in the past visits they were outstanding, maybe it was just an off day, but it was kind of expensive for mediocre burgers and the lemonade no longer coming with at least one refill. The onion rings are still fantastic! Although, that basket of rings was $10.50
We come to Southport at least 3 times a year and this is a cute restaurant with very friendly staff and excellent service! But it just wasn’t as good as past visits and for the price there are other places we will try before returning.
To those about to nosh, good luck!"

"No reservations - First come, first serve.
We had the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer and they were very good.
There were three people in our group and all three were very happy with their meals. The meals were The Rodeo Burger, The Reuben, and The Fried Green Pimento Burger. This is a busy little restaurant, so please be prepared to wait if you get there during a busy time. The food is worth any wait you may have to endure. Our server was Serenity and she was very personable and patient as this was our first visit. I'm already looking forward to my next visit."
