The Barley Republic is one of the bars near St. Augustine that the whole family can visit for an incredible dining experience. The Barley Republic is the quintessential Irish pub in town. While some may contain deep American food influences or be watered down to accommodate everyone to some degree, Barley Republic lives and breathes Irish culture. They aren’t interested in appeasing anyone, which is why they retain that cottage-style décor despite a massive redesign in 2017.

Barley Republic Irish Pub – I didn’t have a drink here, so I can’t vouch for the selection of 70 beers on offer, but it looked like an inviting place where people were having fun when I walked by. The menu includes lots of hearty items if you’re hungry and you might just meet your new best friend. It’s at 48 Spanish Street.

If you’re looking for a spot with a tasty late-night menu, this Irish Gastro Pub is the perfect option. (Their chicken tenders are famous in town!) They also offer options for private events. Barley Republic is a six-minute walk from The Treasury on the Plaza.

Barley Republic upstairs on the weekends, No Name pretty much any time, Casa Maya on the weekends, Tapa’s wine bar, Meehans, Casa de Vino, Mill Top Tavern.

There’s nothing that compares to a good old-fashioned Irish pub. If you know, you know. And the folks at Barley Republic most definitely do.
