There are actually two restaurants in one at Meehan’s, where there’s a traditional Irish pub with fish and chips and corned beef and cabbage on the lower level. Head upstairs and you’ll find Johnny’s Oyster Bar, where freshly caught seafood and a bar that overlooks the Matanzas River offers an altogether different vibe. The Irish Cuban has a nice kick and is a favorite of my mom’s. Built in 1917, Meehan's was once the private home of William Diskmuits, according to historical records. This Irish pub and Seafood features three restaurants in one, ther We have since found photographic evidence that the building was built prior to a devastating fire in 1914 that took out the entire bay front. The damage may have been so extensive that the home was re-built and thus the records show that it was built in 1917.

This was our first time here, but definitely not our last time. We absolutely LOVED this place!. I wish we had eaten here twice.
