Reviews Summary

Meehan's Irish Pub & Seafood House offers a diverse dining experience with popular Irish pub fare and fresh seafood, complemented by river views from its upstairs oyster bar. Diners praise dishes like the Reuben sandwich, fish and chips, and bangers and mash, along with friendly service and scenic waterfront seating. However, some reviews mention inconsistent food quality and occasional service lapses, particularly during busy periods.

"We had a FANTASTIC meal at Meehan's! The Irish fare was delicious (Fish and Chips / Bangers and Mash) and we savored every bite. My kids said the fish and shrimp were the best they've ever had. The drinks were cold and refreshing on a hot St. Augustine day and everything was amazing. Our waitress, Megan, was personable, friendly, and attentive. The hostess was AMAZING and found the perfect table for my family, right by the large TV upstairs to watch the soccer game. One of the best meals we have had in a while, and we'll definitely be back next time we come to St. Augustine."

Aaron Brown

"Beautiful Irish pub. Extensive Irish whiskey list. Food was good. Wife's fish and chips was a healthy portion of cod fish, fries and key lime slaw. My burger was good but a little overcooked. Ordered medium but it was a little dry for such a big burger. Our server Michelle was great. We'd definitely go there again."

"On a recommendation I went here for dinner, the atmosphere was wonderful and it was worth the wait to get a table in the 2nd floor patio! Watching to sunset while enjoying fries oysters what were where perfection. Finishing my meal at a leisurely pace while it softly rained, no wait staff to rush me on my way and in fact they were super attentive! I got to enjoy as night fell and the horse drawn carriages came out. Their bread pudding I got to go and it was the perfect decadent breakfast the next day. While there is no parking at this location, the short walk to a lot is not a hardship for the experience you have. I would happily dine here again."

17 Best Restaurants in St. Augustine To Try in 2024

There are actually two restaurants in one at Meehan’s, where there’s a traditional Irish pub with fish and chips and corned beef and cabbage on the lower level. Head upstairs and you’ll find Johnny’s Oyster Bar, where freshly caught seafood and a bar that overlooks the Matanzas River offers an altogether different vibe. But no matter where you dine, the atmosphere is as relaxed as the Irish beer is cold.
