Reviews Summary

Red's Lobster Pot is praised for its fresh seafood, particularly the lobster roll and bisque, and its charming waterfront location that offers beautiful sunset views. While many enjoy the casual, cozy atmosphere and friendly service, some diners find the prices to be high and have experienced inconsistencies in food quality and attentiveness from staff. Reservations are recommended, especially during peak seasons.

"Great place! Found them after a friend recommended this place. We came before the big storm this weekend and the manager said they only had outdoor seating available and if it rained they wouldn’t be able to move us. Either way we were seated outside and our waitress was the best, even the two gentlemen helping her.
We ordered the oysters. Calamari and the lobster bisque soup. And for entrees we did the lobster roll ( wished the bread was a little more toasted) and the stuffed shrimp"

"This is a fun place! Who doesn't like sitting waterside in Point Pleasant eating seafood. The atmosphere is most typically, surf side dining, nothing fancy and Very clean, very clean. Inside or outside dining is just what you need after a day on the beach. All staff is friendly and helpful. The food is not to he overlooked though. We had fried clams ( not typical, more elevated in taste and freshness, cold lobster rolls were wonderful and the Cesar salad was delicious. Flat iron steak special was amazing and their typical fair - steamed muscles, clams, garlic bread and others Don't disappoint. Desert -banana cream pie, key lime you name it 😋. The watermelon cocktail was fresh and delicious. Highly suggest reservations!"

"After not being here for nearly 10 years I was excited to come back on father's day with my family. My past experience was amazing although I dont quite remember what I had I do remember it being the phenomenal! Today we ordered Lobster Bisque, Shrimp Cocktail which were too notch and then had stuffed lobster tails for son(check that MP first lol!) Blackened grouper sandwich for me, and wife had coconut shrimp all 5/5 and we are huge foodies and are quite experienced in eating !! Dessert we had the homemade key lime pie which didn't disappoint either!!"

Local Shellfish Dishes at the Jersey Shore

Where: Tucked next to the inlet that connects the Manasquan River with the Atlantic Ocean, seasonal Red’s Lobster Pot (57 Inlet Dr.) in Point Pleasant Beach is high on atmosphere—you can order from the counter outside, grab a table on the deck, and BYOB to go casual, or sip your own drinks as you wait for one of the 12 tables indoors—and locally obtained grub, where seafood and produce (when possible) are concerned. The owners, a local lobstering family, take pride in knowing the sources of their seafood, and it shows on their menu. You can generally count on the lobsters, scallops, clams, and oysters to be from NJ (and often from Point Pleasant-based boats), as well as any flounder, weakfish, monkfish, and bluefish that turn up.

After an epic dive trip leading to one of Bill Cleary’s many deep-water certifications, Bill’s instructor Bob Wilson suggested they celebrate at Red’s. Bill fell in love with the bucolic new England style of the place and of course the fresh seafood. In 2014 after years of negotiating and other successful restaurant ventures, Bill and his partner Marisa Tanner bought Red’s.
