Reviews Summary

LOW Country Kitchen is celebrated for its authentic Southern comfort food, particularly its phenomenal fried chicken and heavenly pork belly biscuits. Diners rave about the fun atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff who enhance the dining experience. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, a few mention that the portions can be small for the price, and occasionally, a dish may not meet expectations, though the signature items consistently receive high praise.

"Beyond amazing food and the staff is incredible as well. After a long day of traveling to Denver for our anniversary vacation we came here for dinner. The pork belly biscuit was heavenly, the fried chicken was perfect, and the Mac and cheese was one of the best I've ever had. Big thumbs up from this southern girl!"

"This place had good food and a fun vibe but just MUCH too pricey for what you get. All the portions are pretty small. I wanted a fried green tomato which they were happy to provide but it was not good at all, pretty much tasteless. Everyone did race about the fried chicken so I suppose I should have gotten that. I would have rather gone next door to Lola’s for brunch."

Chrissy Morin

"Go for fried chicken, stay for the atmosphere. We sat at the bar and bantered back and fourth with the bartenders. They were so much fun. They guided us through both the dinner and the drink menus. I highly recommend starting with the bone marrow. We got one per person. The three of us shared a pot pie on the side. Finish off with the 3 or 6 piece chicken with mac n cheese and Brussels sprouts. 👌🏽"

Review of Steamboat Springs | Steamboat Springs, Colorado, North America

Despite being northern Colorado, Steamboat Springs offers belly-filling home-style southern cooking at the Low Country Kitchen right on Lincoln Avenue. Dig into the classics (without the greasy coating), like fried okra and buttermilk fried chicken, or go for the jambalaya or hush puppies. For south of the border–style grub, pop into Salt & Lime and head for the rooftop seating.

Where To Eat In Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Chef Brian Vaughn has quickly become the buttermilk fried chicken king of Steamboat Springs. Head to his lively joint seven days a week for dinner and order dishes like smoked marrow bones with local beer-infused mustard; barbecue lamb shoulder with Carolina rice grits; shrimp and grits with tomato and bacon gravy (see photo at top of page); and buttermilk biscuits laced with local honey and preserves. Vaughn first came to our attention for the innovative Rocky Mountain cuisine he did at his former restaurant, Bistro CV. He does food from the South very well, and many of the ingredients he uses are sourced from within the state.

What is the nightlife like in Steamboat? Going on a ski trip there in January. : steamboat

I'm looking forward to some warm comfort food from Low Country Kitchen this winter - really, really yummy southern style cooking. Other new notable restaurants - Red Bowl Curry, E3 Steakhouse, and Sake2U (Sushi), all downtown. Best cocktails probably at The Laundry.
