What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners rave about Columbia Cafe for its delicious and authentic Spanish and Cuban cuisine, with particular praise for the 1905 Salad and Cuban sandwich. The pleasant ambiance, especially the outdoor seating with river views, and friendly, attentive service enhance the dining experience. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, some note that vegetarian options are limited and the rice can be mushy.
"The fact that the Columbia Cafe has been in business for 120 years says a lot. This is a multi-generational family owned business that offers a wonderful Cuban inspired menu that really represents Tampa. The menu is varied, the prices are competitive and the service is top-notch. This is outdoor seating so plan accordingly. Tampa was experiencing record high heat when I went but the restaurant is equipped with misting fans which made it tolerable. I highly recommend the Columbia Cafe."

"We decided to eat a very light lunch here while at the Tampa Bay History Museum since it is right next to the museum and we wanted to get back in the museum as quick as possible. The ambiance was wonderful. Being from San Antonio, we could not understand how their river walk was supposed to be a river walk but to each their own, I suppose. My husband and I both had the white bean soup and it was pretty good. We shared bread pudding for dessert and it was also good. The service was great with much attentive shown our way. It's open air so lots of creatures roam around while you are eating but they didn't cause too much trouble."

"Our waiter Ricky was friendly and attentive. He made a fresh mojito, and it was so refreshing. Their Tapas, 1905 salad, and cuban sandwich were perfect portions with great flavors. We will be back."
