Reviews Summary

Oxford Exchange is lauded for its stunning European-inspired architecture and multi-faceted offerings, including a restaurant, bookstore, and shops. While many rave about the ambiance and unique experience, some reviews mention long wait times on weekends and occasionally inconsistent service due to busyness. The food receives mixed reviews, with some dishes being highlights and others just 'okay'.Reddit+2

"The Oxford Exchange is a charming and unique place. From the moment you walk in, the space feels warm and inviting, with a good balance of classic and modern design. I love that you can do so many things here: grab a great cup of coffee, enjoy a delicious meal, and browse through their small but carefully curated selection of books. Even though the selection is limited, every book feels thoughtfully chosen, which makes browsing a real treat. The atmosphere is perfect for meeting friends, getting some work done, or simply relaxing."

Myles Joshua Tan

"Oxford Exchange is quickly becoming an iconic brunch location in Tampa. It’s beautiful building, is airy and contains many spaces for dining and relaxing while enjoying tea or spirits. Its dining areas are airy and bright with one area a covered and climate-controlled courtyard. The menu for brunch is mostly lite fare with sandwiches, salads, and breakfast items. The steak and eggs were well cooked, tasty, and fresh. The Chopped Salad was fresh and included plenty of protein (chicken). The service was adequate only though, with the waiter only returning to ask “do you need anything” once the table was ready to be cleared. Also, this is not a very good place for conversation as it is extremely busy and quite loud in the dining areas (although this does not apply to the “library” or “store” portions of the establishment which are amazing."

Jeff P.

"We went on a Saturday, and it was extremely busy. Since we didn’t have a reservation, we ended up waiting about an hour for a table of three. Thankfully, the wait was easy to pass—there’s a charming bookstore, a candle shop, a small store, and a coffee shop to explore while you wait.

Once seated, our server was clearly juggling a lot of tables. He forgot a couple of things, but he was kind and did his best. The food itself was just okay—Brussels sprouts were cooked a little too much, and while the outside of the cinnamon roll was hard, the inside was soft and delicious.

Overall, it was still a lovely way to spend the afternoon, and I’d definitely recommend stopping by if you have some patience and want to enjoy the atmosphere."

The 17 Best Restaurants In Tampa - Tampa

Part of that is due to the setting: there’s a central staircase filled with a bunch of people’s portraits like JFK and Frederick Douglass, a stone fountain in the glass-domed atrium, and a shoe-shine stand in the hallway. Brunch goes until 5pm on the weekend, so you could feasibly knock back bellinis with your lemon poppyseed pancakes a couple hours before the sun sets. There will probably be a wait, but you can pass the time hanging out in their gift shop, drinking champagne, and debating whether or not to buy a 300-page book on Bauhaus art for your dad’s birthday.
