What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Bull In The Alley offers a unique speakeasy-style dining experience with a sophisticated ambiance and expertly prepared steaks. While many praise the incredible food quality, attentive service, and romantic atmosphere, some diners find the prices to be on the higher side for the offerings, and a few have encountered issues with upselling or service speed. It's a highly recommended spot for special occasions despite the premium cost.
"Wow wow wow! What a TREAT! My husband and I celebrated our 9 year wedding anniversary here this weekend and it was incredible. David, our waiter, along with the bar staff were so kind, professional, attentive, and overall had us leaving absolutely cared for! Everything we ate was seasoned and cooked to perfection; we had no problem choosing our entire meal thanks to David’s thorough introduction! What you see- Lemon Drop (I had two) shaken to perfection, of course the hand cut bacon, caesar salad that was incredibly light and refreshing- not a cream base here! A vinegar based dressing that was Devine!, followed by the 8oz filet, Brussels loaded with fixings, potatoes Egan and creamed spinach. Not pictured was a giant slice (not sure Alice is the correct word- perhaps quarter!) of their chocolate cake that was so rich and a wonderful way to end our evening. Truly and evening to remember!"

"I RARELY give out 5 start and some establishments are very close but not quite. Bull in the Alley isn't near a 5 star. Good but overpriced.
Being a hardcore foodie, I will pay good money for a good meal. This place has been a local hype for a while so we finally broke down and tried it.
Service was decent, hovering at points while we were talking (2 couples) but I would rather have that than someone non existent.
My wife and I shared a wedge, oysters Rockafeller, Brussel Sprouts, and the tomahawk.
The steaks are very tender. Portions are large so sharing as a couple or table is easy. Oysters were small but good, no disappointment there. They also do cut up the portion for two, bringing out the order on two separate plates so that was a plus. Great detail on this as sharing portions can be a pain sometimes.
Overall, the meal was good but did not match the price point. The steak alone was $210. With a tip we were just over $400 for the two of us. Again, very tender and a good cut but not what I would consider a $210 steak, definately not a $400 meal.
I have favorite steak houses and restaurants from Coast to Coast. Unfortunately, Bull in the Alley wouldnt make the top ten. Good food but you're paying for the ambiance and the speak easy reputation.
If you want something romantic, something niche, worth a try.... Too many other options for this to be a go-to or first choice for me."

"Amazing atmosphere here! Strange to me that they don’t have a cocktail menu- they do have an extensive wine list though. Live music was very nice. Great for a special occasion as the menu is small and pricey. Food was very good but we were hoping for more creative options beyond steak and fish."

Best Things to Do in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the Center of the Universe
On the more contemporary side of things, nestled in the alleyways of the eclectic Arts District, Bull in the Alley takes a speakeasy-style approach to steak. Instead of the typically sprawling and flashy steakhouse template, you’ll see no signage and no social media presence, just a minimalist website as secretive as a Beyoncé music drop. An easier-to-find eatery nearby also worth visiting, The Tavern makes an ideal stop for brunch, Sunday night fried chicken, or an indulgent tasting menu at the Chef’s Table in the heart of the high-energy kitchen.
15 Best Restaurants And Bars In Tulsa
Speakeasies are mostly known as discreet bars specializing in cocktails and other potables, but the anatomy of the hidden watering hole is changing. In addition to other atypical speakeasies, like a dry bar in New York City, Tulsa is home to a speakeasy-style steakhouse, Bull in the Alley, hidden in a secret passage in the Arts District. Once inside (look for the regal green door with a small bull marked above it), you'll be swept into a dark and alluring parlor outfitted with a piano, a huge central bar, and swanky booths.
The Best Date Night Restaurants in Tulsa
Tucked away in a nondescript alley between The Tavern and Valkyrie lies Bull in the Alley, a speakeasy-style steakhouse where appetites are generously rewarded. Push open the olive double doors and be transported to a plush sanctuary of dim lighting, marbled surfaces, and emerald green booths—a perfect date night spot to enjoy a lavish steak dinner (I recommend the porterhouse). The portions are as opulent as the ambience, which is a good thing….because the bill will be too.
