What is it: This is a neighborhood food truck found just outside Hodges Bend, which is a popular coffee and drinks spot. Expect to eat truly delectable gastropub fare. Why go: Swanky and ever-delicious, the Parish at Hodges Bend is one of the best food trucks in Tulsa.

Right next door to Lowood is Hodges Bend (823 E. 3rd St.), a sexy cocktail bar with dark wood-paneled walls and a decorative tin ceiling. We grabbed cocktails here, then took a five-minute Uber across downtown to Mercury Lounge (1747 S. Boston Ave.), a local music venue in a converted gas station. (You can get nearly everywhere in Tulsa in under ten minutes, which is underrated.) Mercury Lounge has live music pretty much every night of the week, and we saw local acts Knipple and Freak Juice perform.

Hodges Bend transports you back to New Orleans 1940s with a tin ceiling and vinyl collection of jazz. The best part of this place is you can come in for locally sourced roasted coffee in the morning and come back for wine and cocktails in the evening. Hodges Bend combines two mainstays of the craft movement: coffee and cocktails. Directly tied to the coffee roaster Topeca, the bar approaches mixology from the scientific perspective of a coffee roasting barista. Like all craft cocktail places, Hodges has their share of egg white blended, creamy exotic drinks such as the tequila and lavender based, Maderista or the rye, Absinthe and hibiscus infused Dark Passenger.

Hodges Bend is a bespoke cafe and bar experience featuring locally-roasted coffee, signature and classic cocktails, hand-picked wines, and New American dishes from morning to night, seven days a week. Their signature brunch menu is served daily, and their lunch and dinner menu is served until 10 pm Monday through Saturday. Live music every Monday night from 9 PM-midnight, featuring local jazz musicians.

Hodge’s Bend is the kind of place where you can grab an Oklahoma breakfast (scrambled eggs and biscuits with sausage gravy) along with a quality cortado. Or, if you’re not a breakfast person, you could swing by for a charcuterie board and cocktails before dinner. They have a huge record collection, comfy mustard-colored booths, and bistro-style seating outside.

They have a small selection of classic cocktails and over a dozen house cocktails, which are interpretations and twist on the classics.

Head to tucked away Hodge’s Bend in the East Village for some coffee with a kick. We like the Irish Coffee, the Wake-Up Call, and the Mexican Cartel a cocktail featuring Campari, Cynar, sweet vermouth, and espresso. If Hodge’s drinks aren’t enough to get you down to the East Village, the atmosphere and the baristas should be.

You won’t have to yell over loud music at Hodges Bend, but you will get to enjoy the gorgeous bar space that is coffee shop by day and lounge by night. Try something different, like the Japanese cold brew, or a familiar but elevated drink like the macchiato. Also, coffee-infused libations are available at the bar.

Let’s give it to them now: in my book, Hodges Bend (which turned 4 years old in February) is Tulsa’s star in food, cocktails and coffee. It is not easy getting all that right. Talking with one of the owners, Chip Gaberino (alongside Noah Bush, both behind Saturn Room and Torero), it was clear why.

Logan Sweetwood, a bar veteran with experience at Tulsa lounge Hodges Bend, takes care of the cocktail menu, while Eesley oversees the wine list, which is heavy on French and American. Eesley said terroir is the most important factor in her choosing wines for Amelia’s.

Stepping into Hodges Bend will tell you that you’re in for something extraordinary here. This blend of a coffee shop and bar—not your usual combination. Their old-fashioned cocktails and decor will take you back to the good old days of early 20th century America.

Hodges Bend is located on 3 rd Street in downtown Tulsa and is a place where coffee, wine, and cocktails all meet. Does it get any better than that?. Well, yes, they also have a delicious assortment of food that is well-suited for any time of day.

It’s a great place to go for brunch, after dinner drinks or even for dinner. They have an impressive selection of original cocktails, wine and food. The ambiance is romantic complete with low lighting and comfortable seating.

If you want to sample the best of the best, heed the advice of locals and stop by Cirque Coffee (home of the Cinnamon Toast Crunch latte and lattes on draught), Black Wall Street Liquid Lounge or Hodges Bend.
