What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Little Conejo is praised for its inventive taco combinations and vibrant atmosphere, offering a unique take on Mexican cuisine. While many rave about the fish tacos, al pastor, and creative vegetarian options, some diners find the tortillas underwhelming and certain dishes excessively spicy without prior warning. The impressive mezcal selection and friendly service are consistent highlights.
"This is a review specifically for their wonderful catering service! We have loved Little Conejo for years, and we decided to have them cater our wedding. Their communication from start to finish was stellar, and they were very patient with my changes and dietary accommodations. The price for the food was incredibly fair, and we had so much extra food that I am still enjoying delicious burritos I made from the leftovers! They were generous in their portions, and even gave us some free guac. Timing with their delivery was perfect, and I was so grateful they were able to deliver to my venue that was over an hour from the restaurant and down a pretty steep gravel-y road. The food arrived hot and ready for our reception, and everything was as delicious as it is in-restaurant!!
They were able to accommodate for dairy free, gluten-free, nut-free, and vegetarian without even needing to alter the already delicious dishes.
Thank you for the amazing service and wonderful food, Little Conejo! I strongly recommend having them cater any event where you want great food!

"I'll only give it a 4 because the tortillas don't live up to the deliciousness of the meats; they were cold, and some were even a little tough (poorly heated). I recommend buying a tortilla machine, which would give your 🌮 🌮 an exceptional flavor or with the current tortillas, use the fat from the al pastor meat to heat them on the griddle, and they'll give them an incredible flavor. The salsas, service, and friendliness are all 10/10."

"This is an order at the counter then go sit down place. The Al pastor tacos are amazing! Got Hibiscus drink and it was incredibly small..probably 4-5 ounces of juice in a tom Collin’s glass filled with ice for $5. That was the only negative. Had beef, mushroom and Al pastor. Would go back for just the Al pastor although the others were very very good too"

Where to Find the Best Tacos in Portland
This Vancouver taqueria is one of the suburb’s culinary go-tos thanks to its standout oyster mushroom tacos, in which garlic-roasted mushrooms arrive blended with a touch of melted cheese that helps bring out their flavor. On the meaty side, Little Conejo makes some of the area’s better tacos al pastor, employing a trompo, or spit, to roast the meat. Other standouts include the thin-cut beef suadero with fried jalapeño salsa and the pescado frito, beautifully battered and fried mahi-mahi with crema and a pile of crunchy cabbage for textural variety.

Run by East Coast transplant Joey Chmiko, Little Conejo's next-door neighbor is a wood-fired pizzeria with an aesthetic so minimalist it feels like eating in an Apple commercial. The high ceilings and white walls decorated with only monochrome drawings by customers provide little distraction from the hulking hemispherical oven in the middle of the room and the chewy, charred pies Chmiko draws from its belly. The crust is tasty, if not always evenly cooked, and toppings tend toward bright Mediterranean flavors.
