Sant Ambroeus Palm Beach

At this swish Italian spot with an eye-catching retro décor and roots spanning back to 1920s Milan before the brand expanded to multiple locations, it’s easy to be swept away by, among other things, the desserts (from pastries to gelato), but don’t miss the seafood. For instance, there’s a “Palm Beach-style” seafood misto ($37) with lightly fried Florida Gulf shrimp, calamari, asparagus and lemon aioli — as well as grilled Scottish salmon ($47), featuring side dishes that can change with the seasons, such as roasted bell-pepper sauce and Italian panzanella or a lentil salad, roasted ratatouille and more.

Sant Ambroeus is exactly where you want to go for breakfast, lunch and dinner when you’re near The Royal Poinciana Plaza. The service is 5-star; the Milanese-inspired cuisine checks all the boxes whether you’re in the mood for their popular Asparagi Freddi or a bowl of delicious pasta; and the dining room is one of the prettiest in PBI. There are the usual suspects of course: fresh caprese salads, tagliatelle entangled in a hearty bolognese and crisped-to-perfection veal Milanese, but there are also plenty of seasonal specials that deserve your attention.

The Milan-inspired New York City café, Sant Ambroeus, was among the first New York-based establishments to expand to South Florida when it debuted its Palm Beach outpost in 2018. Start with the ahi tuna tartare or the Fritto Misto “Palm Beach Style.” There’s also a bar inside if you’re looking for an apéritif.

Sant Ambroeus (santambroeus.com) has become almost as much a part of the culture in Palm Beach as it is in New York, and of course the Hamptons, where it has taken over a second location in the former Babette’s space, due to be unveiled this summer. Start with a homemade soup if one is on offer, along with toasted sunflower bread with creamy burrata and fava bean spread. Pastas include a bolognese and conchiglie alla aragosta; and paccheri with a spicy San Marzano tomato sauce.

Sant Ambroeus– Darling outside and inside Italian restaurant!. Not only was their food amazing, but it’s also a great place to stop by for afternoon coffee and cake post shopping.They have great sandwiches and we ordered the most amazing cake. We paired this lunch with the nearby outdoor shopping center.

Being from NY, I’ve always passed by Sant Ambroeus in Soho but somehow haven’t been in yet!. Who knew it would take me going all the way to Florida to try it!. After a sunset picnic, my friends and I went to get coffee and gelato.
