Mammoth Dining Room

A wall of windows in the handsome art deco–style restaurant overlooks an expanse of green that was once a military parade and drill field. While enjoying breakfast, lunch, or dinner you might catch a glimpse of elk grazing on the lawn. Montana beef, bison, boar, and trout receive pride of place at dinner, which always includes a few vegetarian entrées.

It’s silly every place is still using take out only Covid protocols. The price of the food is ridiculous for what you get. I ordered a hot dog with gluten free bun and had a hot dog with a GF hamburger bun thrown on top of it in a box.

We rested up and had a fancy dinner that night at the Mammoth Dining Room. I ate bison — because that’s just who I am.
