Reviews Summary

Grant Village Lake House Restaurant offers a unique dining experience with its stunning Yellowstone Lake views, particularly at sunset. Many praise the delicious tacos, especially the Al Pastor, and the fresh Dip Trio. However, some reviews mention disappointing service, cold food, and a lack of cheese on tacos and nachos. The ambiance is casual, with some finding the seating arrangements cramped.

"Beautiful view, order and find a spot to eat, they deliver to the table. Loved the Tacos. Their home hot sauce was very good. I tried their Pica Amber local brew beer and it was good too. In the middle of no where, this is an oasis."

"GREAT VIEWS, SERVICE, AND FOOD. In Grant Village there is basically nowhere else to sit down and have a meal other than this Lake House restaurant and I am glad. The quality of the service was wonderful with each server being extremely attentive and also being very accommodating with all spots. There is also vegetarian options which was great because after a long day of being in Yellowstone seeing all the animals some people don’t particularly want meat. The meat options were amazing however, my favorite being the Al pastor which was a little spicy but had a lot of flavor. The spicy pork was very tender and had a pinch to it, but thankfully the grilled pineapple put on top of the taco evened the spice out. We also got the dip trip which was BOMB the salsa , guac, and queso all taste really fresh, and they used tortilla chips instead of corn chips which is what I usually see in American restaurants. One of my 2 highlights from the meal was just the view of Yellowstone slake you get from eating next to the window especially at sunset JAW DROPPING! Also the churros that we ended off with were just amazing crispy on the outside soft and a little gooey on the inside with lots of sugar and cinnamon on top. There wasn’t too much cinnamon though which I appreciated. OVERALL the meal was quite affordable, delicious, and unique with the fantastic view which is why I would definitely recommend Grant Village Lake House Restaurant to others and I will come again during my next visit to Yellowstone!"

"If you want some amazing tacos and nachos while sitting with a million dollar few then come here. The barbacoa was some of the best I’ve had. The family had amazing dinner then walk the pie for sunset. And don’t forget to get a beer on tap they were both great."

Here’s why Yellowstone in the off-season is great for families

Even though Yellowstone has five main hubs—Old Faithful, Grant Village, Lake Village, Canyon Village, and Mammoth Hot Springs—each with its own unique geological or geographical allure, at times in summer it can feel like every visitor is vying to see the same attraction.

Dining in Yellowstone National Park: Your Options

If you want to eat at a restaurant that is not as refined as Lake or as popular as Old Faithful, then the Grant Village restaurant is a perfect choice. The restaurant sits near Lake Yellowstone, offering visitors a nice view during their meal. The interior is a little unusual, resembling a building you would find in summer camp, but the food makes up for the cheesy design.

Yellowstone - Rick Steves Travel Forum

I was looking at Old Faithful Lodge or Canyon or Lake village. We don’t want to camp or do cabins, want a clean room with private bath, refrigerator and ideally some type of kitchen amenities - at minimum something to heat hot water or coffee. I have dietary restrictions and am picky - need healthy good quality food and I’ve read the food is not great.
