Reviews Summary

Hong Hoai's Restaurant is highly praised for its authentic Vietnamese cuisine and exceptional service, with many diners highlighting staff like Tee for their attentiveness and helpfulness in explaining dishes. While the food is consistently described as delicious and portions generous, one reviewer found the experience did not live up to the hype, citing average flavors and issues with amenities. Overall, it's a recommended spot for those seeking a genuine taste of Vietnam.

"I had the best food experience today at this restaurant that I have had in Hanoi thus far and it was my second visit to this restaurant! Lee welcomed me with great warmness and enthusiasm that you would expect at a Michelin star restaurant and as a previous restaurant owner I highly rate his service and the owner of this establishment should count themselves lucky for having such a top class staff member who I project big things for in the future. Excellent service!!

Lee guided me to the best dish to order to get the full local experience. Following his recommendation I ordered the Vietnamese pancake with chicken filling and the flaovours and fresh ingredients were truly unbelievable! One of the most delicious things I've ever eaten! I was shown step by step the best way to eat the dish, packed with fresh herbs, vegetables and the pancake itself all wrapped into rice paper (you wrap yourself) and dipped into a delicious sauce. I also ordered the chicken spring rolls which were amazing. On my previous visit I ordered beef fried rice and the duck spring rolls which were all top notch. The sauce that comes with the duck rolls is unreal!

This place was recommended to me by a friend who visited Hanoi years ago and I now recommend this place to the world!

If you are in Hanoi make sure you visit this place!"

"We loved everything about this place! We had the Fried Pork Bun Cha, Seafood pancake, Fried Spring Rolls, iced Coconut Coffee, and iced Salted Caramel coffee. Everything was amazing! Most especially, thanks to Tee who made sure we are well-taken cared for during our visit. He not only served us the food carefully, he also meticulously taught us how to prepare & consume our food—the way they designed it!

Thank you so much, Tee! Will definitely recommend this place. ⭐️"

"Amazing restaurant, we enjoyed very much the food, very tasteful and big plates, prices are standard. Our waiter Lee was very kind and explained us in good English everything we ask about the menu. We tried for the first time the traditional Vietnamese pancakes and it was a full experience, also ordered some tofu cooked with eggplants and rice, it was very delicious too. All of this plus some spring rolls as appetizer and two cokes to drink was 397.000 VND."

Gluten Free Hanoi, Vietnam: The Complete Guide

Hong Hoai’s Restaurant is an okay dinner option for celiacs in Hanoi.
