What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Hồ Lô Quán is highly praised for its authentic and delicious Vietnamese cuisine, with many diners highlighting dishes like Cao lầu, Banh Xeo, and White Rose Dumplings. The friendly, family-run atmosphere and affordable prices are consistently lauded, making it a local favorite and a must-visit spot. While some mention the decor isn't the most atmospheric, the quality of the food and the warmth of the service more than make up for it.
"One of the best restaurants in Vietnam. Friendly and nice staff, fresh ingredients and generous portions. Cao lầu became one of my favorite dishes after I tried it here. Fried Wonton was delicious, too. Reasonably priced overall."

"Tucked away in the charming seaside village of Hoi An, Ho Lo Quan is a hidden gem that quietly steals your heart. As we wandered through the peaceful, lantern-lit alleyways, the warm, still air wrapped around us like a welcome embrace. The evening felt almost magical.
At this modest, humble eatery, we shared a beautifully balanced meal: crisp green papaya salad, tender grilled fish wrapped in banana leaf, and smoky grilled eggplant—also cradled in banana leaf—served with fragrant rice. We paired it with both hot and iced ginger tea, each sip refreshing and grounding.
Every dish was generously portioned, thoughtfully prepared, and fairly priced. Ho Lo Quan offers more than just food—it’s a nourishing, soulful experience. Highly recommended for those seeking authentic flavors in a peaceful setting."

"Wow!!! It's our last night in Hoi An, and Vietnam, and it seems the best was saved for last! What fabulous food, lovely helpful friendly service, restaurant was neat, clean and had aircon. All pluses but I would have sat out in the pouring rain for the food if necessary! We had the best Morning Glory, in a flavourful broth not just fried, Bun Cha was phenomenal and the Bun Thit Nurong an explosion of flavours in your mouth. I think we will dream about this food for ages!! Thank you for a fabulous culinary experience."

There’s nothing flashy about Ho Lo Quan, but it also has some of my favourite Banh Xeo (Vietnamese pankcake with pork and prawn and greens) in Vietnam. My pick for where to eat in Hoi An for the best Banh Xeo.
