1976 Cafe cũng lấy cảm hứng từ những căn nhà thời bao cấp vào những năm 70 của thế kỷ trước vì thế mà đặt chân vào quán bạn thấy không gian được trang trí có phần khác với các quán cafe hiện đại. Từ chiếc đồng hồ cho đến máy phát nhạc đều là những món đồ cổ sưu tầm lại hay đơn giản như kệ sách cũng được thiết kế hệt như một căn phòng đọc sách nhỏ của các anh bộ đội ngày xưa. Quán có hai tầng cho bạn lựa chọn, tầng hai thiết kế thêm nhiều cửa sổ hướng nhìn ra sông An Cựu hiền hòa, mỗi ô cửa sổ được sơn một màu sắc khác nhau tạo cảm giác mới lạ mà cũng rất dễ thương.

I checked with the reception and they actually recommended Nina’s Cafe, which I mistook for the Family Home Restaurant, located in the same street. I ordered chicken curry with rice for 75,000 VND and got Brecht some instant noodles in a shady little shop on the way back to the hotel. I seem to mislike the Vietnamese curry (think I prefer the Indian one), so our first take-out dinner was not really a success.

If you are looking for no-frills traditional Vietnamese food Nina’s is a good place to check out when around the area. They are hidden deep within an alley but the place is quite cool with souvenir paintings hanging on the walls. This is a good option if you are concerned about street food hygiene but also want to try some of those common Vietnamese dishes like Bun Bo Hue or stir fried meat with rice etc.

1976 Cafe ở số 12 Hải Triều có nét trang trí cổ điển tựa như những năm 1976 với màu sắc tối trầm. Tại tầng 1 của quán cafe bạn sẽ bắt gặp một vài chiếc bàn có trò chơi ô ăn quan để bạn giải trí, đồ ăn vặt còn có mỳ tôm trẻ em, xí muội, xê cam giúp bạn nhớ lại lúc còn trẻ thơ. Bên ngoài quán cafe cổ ở Huế này không được trang trí nổi bật nên bạn cần phải để ý chút ít nha.

Only accessible via Ha Noi street, Nina’s Cafe (16/34 Nguyen Tri Phuong) is hidden away from the main city streets. Đây là một quán cafe vườn nhưng có cách trang trí rất teen nên khá được lòng các bạn trẻ. Tuy vị trí của quán hơi khó tìm nhưng lại rất yên tĩnh và thông thoáng. Quán rộng, có nhiều cây xanh, các thác nước, ao cá, thềm lại được lót bằng cỏ nhân tạo khiến không gian quán luôn ngập tràn trong màu xanh tươi mát vô cùng dễ chịu.

Everything we ordered had to be rolled in rice paper with your choice of veggies and herbs. We had banh khoai (a pancake filled with pork, shrimp, and bean sprouts), nem lui hue (pork skewered on lemongrass), and some amazing fried vegetable spring rolls.

One of the top-rated restaurants in Hue, Nina Café is undeniably the nicest restaurants we’ve been to in Hue. However, this is reflected in the price. With a jungle like décor, the atmosphere and setting are warm and cosy.

Golden Rice is another option, or you could try some of the cuisine at the Nguyen Dinh Chieu walking street.
