"Nice walk from center and bus back. Good phys walking up the hill. Not overly challenging but a work out. Worth the effort as the views get better and better as you go up. Castle itself was nice and simple. A few info points, but just a nice place to walk around for a couple of hours. Best point was the views. The views change as you walk round but they are all stunning."

"The castle is nice. September it cost 400 Lek to access the grounds and 200 to see the museum which we gave a miss. Be warned there is a long uphill hike on cobblestones to access the castle. Views from the top are nice. We rented bikes for 5 Euro and bikes to the bottom and then walked up. It’s a great add on to continue to Zogaj it’s an easy ride and there are cafes and bars on the way."

Alan Levitsky

"Great views from the top to Shkoder and the lake, must see. No card accepted, but take euro (4 per adult, children free). No queues. It closes down at 7 pm! Parking is tricky, there are lots of private parking operators that will lure you in, just ignore. There is parking right at the gate, but it is usually busy. I could find some slot along the road and parked for free. The castle is large, many yards, various viewing points, so book at least an hour to walk around. There is a cafe and toilets. Also, you can visit a small museum (2 EUR)."
