What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the magical experience and stunning Patagonian landscapes at Refugio Hielo Azul. However, the challenging trek and the often crowded, precarious footbridge are significant drawbacks that require careful planning and patience.
"The guy in the tourist office told us that the bridge was closed and indeed, there is a sign that the bridge is closed - but you can still cross it if you don't mind a little swinging and have some kind of balance and calm. You cannot really use the rails (they are not connected to anything, just kind of hanging there) but it can still handle a single person with a large backpack. After exploring the hiking trails around El Bolson I would say this bridge is still fine (in comparison) and doesn't deserve to be closed (yet!)."

"We crossed this footbridge two years ago, and it was in poor condition. We returned, and it's still the same or worse (you can cross it, but the shelter owners don't even maintain it). We had to wait over an hour to cross."
Gonzalo Boixadera
"Muita gente para cruzar, espera de cerca de uma hora. Não se respeita o limite de horário das 14hrs para se subir ao Refugio. Cruzamos o rio a pé. Pela quantidade de gente é necessário que se melhore a estrutura da passarela."
