Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the Lower Circuit's immersive experience, offering unparalleled views from the base of Iguazu Falls and a full panorama of both Argentine and Brazilian sides. While some viewpoints may be under renovation, the sheer power and beauty of the cascades make it an unforgettable highlight. Be prepared for stairs and significant mist.

"A nice hiking route to see the falls from the bottom. Gives you a fuller view of both the Argentine side and the Brazilian side. There are also many smaller falls you can see on your route.
Unlike the other trails this trail has some stairs. Unfortunately a couple of view points are currently closed or being renovated.
Don't miss this one"

Emmanuel Conradie

"One of the two ‘main’ walks in the park, and in my opinion the circuito inferior is better than the circuito superior, because it is lower than the waterfalls so you get a better view.

The circuito superior is still amazing as it looks down from the top of the waterfalls, and if possible you should do both circuitos, but if time is short the circuito inferior gives better views.

It says it’s a 1.5 hour walk but it’s only 1.7km and if it’s not too busy you can do the walk in 45 minutes without rushing."

Andy Watts

"Circuito Inferior offers outstanding views of the falls. However I thought its venture viewpoints were less impressive than that of the circuito superior and the devil’s throat. Definitely still worth a visit."

The Immersive Experience of the Lower Circuit

The Lower Circuit (Circuito Inferior) is a 1.7 km trail that takes you to the base of many of Iguazu Falls' most impressive cascades. Unlike the Upper Circuit, which offers panoramic views from above, the Inferior Circuit provides an intimate and powerful encounter with the sheer force of the water. You'll feel the spray, hear the thunderous roar, and witness the falls from a perspective that truly emphasizes their scale and grandeur. This trail is characterized by numerous staircases and walkways that weave through the lush subtropical rainforest, bringing you incredibly close to the water's edge. Reddit

Travelers often describe the Lower Circuit as a more visceral experience. The proximity to the falls means you're likely to get wet from the mist, a refreshing sensation on a warm day. This circuit offers unique vantage points of both the Argentine and Brazilian sides, allowing for a comprehensive appreciation of the entire waterfall system. While some viewpoints might occasionally be closed for maintenance, the majority of the circuit remains open, offering unforgettable sights. Reddit

Key highlights include the views of Salto Bosetti and Salto Alvar Nuñez, where the water plunges dramatically. The trail is well-maintained but can be slippery due to the constant mist, so wearing appropriate footwear is crucial. It's a fantastic opportunity for photography, especially for capturing the rainbows that frequently form in the spray. Reddit

Navigating the Lower Circuit: Practicalities and Perspectives

The Lower Circuit is generally considered more physically demanding than the Upper Circuit due to its numerous stairs. While the total distance is short, the elevation changes can make it a moderate workout. Many visitors recommend tackling it earlier in the day to avoid the midday heat and larger crowds. Reddit The estimated time to complete the circuit is around 1.5 hours, but many find they can do it in 45 minutes if they're not lingering too long at each viewpoint. Reddit

When planning your visit, be aware that some sections or viewpoints might be temporarily closed for renovation. It's always a good idea to check with park staff or at the visitor center for the most current information. Despite any potential closures, the overall experience remains spectacular. The circuit offers a different, yet equally awe-inspiring, perspective compared to the Upper Circuit, making it essential to experience both if possible. Reddit

For photographers, the Lower Circuit presents unique challenges and rewards. The constant mist requires protection for your gear, but the dramatic angles and the sheer power of the falls make for stunning shots. Look for opportunities to capture the rainbows that often appear in the spray, adding a magical element to your photos. TikTok
