"I tried the fresh super clean cold water on June 29, 2022 and also it has delicious fishes which you may order in the restaurant. Water temperature: 10°C at the surface. I really enjoyed swimming in the lake for a couple of minutes. It's safe to have a camp around the lake and people are very nice here, they were very kind to us after we came back from the Aragats mountaineering program, and in the morning a guy brought us a watermelon !"

"It's such a magical place, with a strange calm to it. It feels like you're in a different planet... You're 3200m above sea level, so you'll need to get used to thin air. Loved every minute. Had the famous "hash". Amazing place to visit if you can bare the 1 hour and 15 min drive from Yerevan."

The Unique Atmosphere of the Soviet Observatory
While not an officially maintained tourist site, the observatory's presence offers a glimpse into Armenia's scientific past. Exploring the grounds (with caution, as structures may be unstable) allows visitors to imagine the research and activities that once took place here. The isolation and the remnants of scientific equipment contribute to a feeling of stepping back in time or onto another planet, as some visitors have described.
