What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the beautiful, untouched bushland and the abundance of native wildlife, particularly wombats. The extensive 4x4 tracks offer thrilling adventures for off-road enthusiasts. However, the lack of mobile reception and the need for a 4WD on many tracks are important considerations for planning.
"I’ve live in Blackwood, right in the middle of the Lerderderg State Park,on and off for nearly 40 years. I remember when I first arrived on my Harley Davidson, the town was as rough around the edges as I was. Over time Blackwood and I both mellowed and became gentrified and sophisticated.
The Wombat State forest is a beautiful place and one of the last remaining parts of the world where a mobile phone does one no good at all.
One however needs a 4WD car, for all those unpaved roads and I must recommend an Audi Quattro."

"Crazy fun wheeling to be had on a maze of 4x4 tracks that are not too hecktic but you can still have a ripper of a time!"
