What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Berrima River Reserve for its beautiful river access, enjoyable walking trails, and unique historical insights. It's a peaceful spot for camping and day trips, though some note that campground sites can be tight for larger vehicles and amenities are basic. Potential issues with unregistered visitors at the popular swimming hole have also been mentioned.
"A fantastic campground but not suitable for large rigs. We r 19β & it was tight getting in! We were on site 3. Site 1 best site. Lots of great walks & easy access swimming in the river. Toilet block & water tap to fill your tank. Dogs allowed."

"Nice chilled hike, pretty flat and well maintained trail. Interesting signs of previous lodgings from Germans held there during WWI. Tons of butterflies in Jan and saw a few lizards too along the way. River is pretty brown and river views are pretty bushy. Still, had a lovely easy 30 mins walk there and another 30 back."

"Beautiful spot to camp with basic toilets and shower. lots of foot traffic through camp site because proximity of local swimming hole and nice walk perfect for bird watching. If you are lucky you might spot a platypus! Council allows you to book 2 nights only stay. And be prepared for late coming freeloaders. We booked the whole site and still people wanted to squeeze in without paying. Normally I wouldn't care, but since we paid for whole site we wanted some privacy and safe space for kids and dogs. We end up blocking the entry with the rope and sign."
