What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Boranup Forest for its breathtaking natural beauty, particularly the towering karri trees and the immersive scenic drive. Many find it a peaceful escape and a perfect spot for photography. Some reviewers note that signage for walking trails could be improved, and a few feel it's best visited as a stop en route to other destinations.
"Lovely 5 km loop through the forest taking about 75 minutes. Poorly signed as no actual sign indicating where to start. Luckily for us a couple were finishing the loop so said we had found the right place! Would be good to signpost the loop for sure…"

"This is a heavily wooded forest area between Augusta and Margaret River within the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park. You'll see large Karri trees some ascending up to 60 metres in height filling the valley as you drive through Boranup along Caves Road. There are a couple of pullover and lookout stops you can make if you want to walk around some of the Karri trees and enjoy seeing them up close.
There is also a 14km Boranup Road deeper into the forest, includes a campground stop that links up with Caves Road if you fancy a detour deeper into the forest. You will also find walking trails on All Trails if interested in longer walks through through the Karri tree forest. Makes for a nice change of scenery from the many beaches and wineries in the region."
