Day 1 on the Three Capes Track. I drove out to Fortescue bay, starting the hike from there to Bare knoll campground. This is a free campsite with toilets, tent platforms and a rainwater tank. After setting up, I had a nice and early dinner ready to start fresh tomorrow morning, hiking out to the first cape 🥾🌿 #tasmania #threecapestrack #camping #outdoors #solotravel #solohike #multidayhike #hik...

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Three Capes Track for its breathtaking coastal scenery, well-maintained paths, and excellent hut accommodations. The dramatic cliffs, diverse landscapes, and the unique starting boat trip are frequently highlighted as unforgettable aspects. While the cost of the official track is a consideration for some, most agree the experience is well worth the investment.

"Went on this track with my family, longest walk I've ever done (4 days), but still fairly easy terrain, and amazing lookouts. The accomodations are quite good, and the staff are helpful."

Jude Sunderland

"At the start of the hike was a boat trip that dropped you off on a beautiful beach - the best start! The hike itself had the most beautiful scenery and views, from looking out into the ocean, climbing the Blade and hiking through a rainforest. It was very clear to navigate with board walks and clearly marked paths.

Getting to the huts after each day was a pleasure - they had rooms of 2 bunk beds (4 beds) and plenty of hooks inside and outside the rooms for your things. The communal spaces were very tidy and big - 2 rooms with tables, hobs, pots, pans etc. Also, there were warm showers at hut 2!!!

Rangers at the huts were also super helpful. Jacinta at hut 3 was wonderful and super knowledgeable! They’d give weather updates and what to expect from the hike the following day. Super cool!"

Harriet Montgomery

"Amazing! The track takes you through an incredible range of habitat which I hope will continue to be looked after and maintained forever. The accommodation and rangers were also amazing which made the experience unforgettable."
