Looking for a peaceful escape? Book at Turon Gates where you have a variety of options to choose from; natural campsites, clamping and mountain cottages. Head down to the river to swim or fish, you might even bump into some kangaroos, sheep and horses. We didn’t get a chance to meet the owners but they will be there 24/7 if needed! #turongates #thingstodonsw #activities #newsouthwales #bluemontai...

Reviews Summary

Turon National Park is lauded as a fantastic escape, particularly for 4WD enthusiasts and those seeking a peaceful, self-sufficient camping experience. Visitors praise its beautiful riverside locations and the adventure of its terrain, though some note issues with track damage and littering. The park offers a genuine wilderness feel, making it a rewarding destination for prepared adventurers.

"My favorite National Park is driving distance from Sydney! Easy to get to and lots of interesting terrains, including river crossing. The kids had a blast."

Lucas Zhu

"Nice NP to enjoy some downtime without crowds even on a holiday weekend. Camping needs self sufficiency. There are toilets only at the official camp grounds. Needs AWD and good growth clearance to get in and out and there are a few rivers to wade. Downsides are the minority of people hooning around damaging the tracks, and leaving litter, esp. toilet paper near camp sites and river. Access some interesting 4WD tracks from here."

Richard Green

"A beautiful national park to visit. Two main campgrounds which can be booked online. The diggings campground has a drop toilet. No other amenities available. Requires you to be self sufficient (bring your own water) and take your rubbish out.
Requires a 4wd for access. Other side of national park enters Sunny corner state forest and the landmark known as the Pinnacle."
