Reviews Summary

Mermaids Inlet is a stunning, rugged coastal spot offering dramatic cliff views and raw natural beauty, well worth the walk. Visitors appreciate the wild feel and photo opportunities, though caution is advised due to slippery paths and unpredictable waves. The combination with Gosangs Tunnel is highly recommended.

"It is a 30 min easy walk to get to the mermaid inlet from the carpark. You can choose to do different trails to get there. Once you get at the inlet there are some warning signs about weather, waves and falling danger. To get the best view you have to hike next to a steep egde, but the view is amazing."

Demi Scheerman

"Mermaid Inlet is a stunning and rugged coastal spot that's well worth the walk, especially for those who enjoy dramatic cliff views and raw natural beauty. The trail to the inlet is relatively short but can be moderately challenging, especially after rain. I visited during wet weather, so several small streams and muddy patches had formed along the path, making it necessary to detour or step carefully in places.

Despite the damp conditions, the experience was rewarding. The crashing waves against the rock formations and the remote, wild feel of the place made it truly memorable. There are a few spots with incredible views perfect for photos, and the sense of isolation adds to the charm.

However, I recommend wearing sturdy shoes and being prepared for slippery surfaces, especially after rainfall. If the weather is dry, the trail would likely be easier to manage, but even with a bit of rain, the adventure is definitely worth it"

Grzegorz Sz

"It's worth a visit. The walk is relatively easy until getting closer to the inlet when the trail gets rocky.

One must walk to the tip of the trail, turn back facing the falling rocks to appreciate the waves pounding the rocks with an enormous amount of force. The rocks are the evidence of millions of years of geographic history in making, including how the sea water is accelerating its physical reformation.

Walking further down is an uneven rock platform closer to the sea level. A good spot for experienced anglers. I saw some tourists standing near the platform's edge with their back to the sea taking photos. Giant waves smashed the side of the platform near where they were standing soon after. No wonder the Easter drowning toll is so high."
