~ Emma Gorge, El Questro WA ~ 2 hour rocky scramble with some stretch’s of flat surfaces and short steep climbs to the bottom of the falls. This hike was mostly in the sun so we picked a morning start. The 65m face was stunning, to the right of the falls hot spring water fell from the top while the main falls was quite chilly. We stumbled across a small hot springs bath, big enough for 1 toddle...

Reviews Summary

Emma Gorge is a stunning natural wonder with a rewarding hike leading to a beautiful waterfall and a unique thermal spring. While the hike can be challenging and the entry fee is noted as high by some, the breathtaking scenery and invigorating swim make it a highly recommended stop in the Kimberley. Visitors appreciate the dramatic gorge walls and the refreshing contrast of the warm and cool waters. InstagramReddit+1

"I rate this as one of my favourite gorges along the Gibb. We started very early in the morning, the trail head has toilets and information panels. The carpark and resort does get busy and the trail up to the Turquoise Pool and the Falls is narrow so there will be hiking bottle necks. Early morning sun on the surrounding cliffs is stunning, and morning shade makes the hike/ scramble up to the falls cool and pleasant. The deep overhanging cliffs at the falls are dramatic, with a continual rain of water seepage drops down into the pool. The entry beach/ shore is small and rocky, to the right is a small thermal niche. The warm thermal currents mix with the cool pool water, making an invigorating swim. By the time we headed back down the gorge the sun was shining onto the Turquoise Pool highlighting the colour. The resort deck and cafe is a good place to rest after the hike. I would recommend good hiking boots for this walk with ankle support. Very nice way to spend an early morning."

Zeglar “Zeg” Fergus

"Amazing spot for a swim and beautiful surrounding ranges. The walk in there is definitely not for beginners as there’s a lot of rocks and some water crossing with slippery rocks, although we saw people of all ages doing the walk. The water is cold but was flowing during our visit."

Agnete Kirkevang

"Beautiful, stunning, cool and lush. Great swim at the end, can be quite busy. Make sure you wear supportive shoes as there are some areas where one could definitely roll an ankle! Had some lunch at the end and a schooner and it was divine!"
