What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Geelong Botanic Gardens for their beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and excellent maintenance. The free entry and ample parking are significant advantages. While some note minor upgrades, the overall experience is highly positive, with many recommending it as a must-visit in Geelong.
"Parking was very easy, and free, and just a short walk to the main gates.
Beautiful mid-sized botanical gardens, with a vast and beautiful selection of plants and flowers and trees, shrubs, ferns, the list goes on. Lovely little oval space entranceway that then leads to some beautifully well maintained lawns, the greenhouse, fountains and other impressive sculptures. There was some minor upgrades/repairs that were being conducted, but nothing major that hindered the experience.
Very peaceful to walk around, so many varieties that you could spend well over an hour or two just reading into each species and enjoying their beauty.
If it’s your sort of thing, I’d recommend bringing a picnic blanket and some snacks as the lawns are very well maintained and a lush green. There are also several of them that are quite large in size, so you can relax with some privacy.
All in all a great stop and definitely recommend if you’re in or passing through Geelong!"
