Visitors consistently praise the Old Treasury Building for its stunning architecture and free entry, offering a captivating journey through Melbourne's history, particularly its gold rush era. The friendly and knowledgeable staff enhance the experience, making it a highly recommended stop for history and architecture enthusiasts.

"Had a wonderful time here. The staff is lovely and gave me an excellent rundown of the exhibits. The building itself is worth a visit. The interior is beautiful.
The exhibits were also great. In the basement, there was a focus on the gold rush and how it impacted the development of Melbourne.
The ground floor was focused more generally on the history of Melbourne and its development. There were wonderful displays showing pictures of the city in the past and then pictures from the same point of view in modern times. There were also exhibits that highlighted various social movements related to women’s rights, aboriginal relations, etc.
The 1st floor had an exhibit on political cartoons.
Overall, a great way to spend a couple of hours to appreciate the history and development of this wonderful city."
