"Beautifully maintained cemetery, certainly the largest I’ve ever been to. If you come through the main entrance there’s an office where you can pick up a detailed map, the wonderful staff can also help you with grave location, and there’s even umbrella’s you can borrow which was a lifesaver on the warm day we came. There’s toilets and water fountains spread throughout.
We spent no less than 3-4 hours here and barely scratched the surface."

"I visited Melbourne General Cemetery, and to my surprise, it’s one of the most peaceful places I’ve ever walked through. When I was feeling overwhelmed, it helped me find a sense of calm. It’s quiet, reflective, and somehow soothing."

"Well maintained cemetery and was opened in 1852 taking forty two acres. This grave yard has the largest memorial to Elvis in the Southern hemisphere, also there is a small memorial to the Australian Prime Ministers by the main entrance. The cemetery has quite a number of graves that date back over a hundred years. There is only a small number of on site parking by the main entrance. Is great there are night tours a few times a year that maybe of interest. The mausoleums are beautify maintained in light stone. there is a set of public toilets also available. Due to the size of the place one can loose a day strolling through."
