Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the amazing Aboriginal rock art, especially the unique handprints, and the stunning geology of the caves. The well-maintained walk is also a plus. However, some find the art sparse or difficult to see without adjustment, and the drive to the shelter can be challenging with unpaved roads and tricky navigation.

"We visited on a weekday and didn’t see anyone else. It is quite a long and slow drive over unpaved roads (watch out for potholes). From the Google location, you may have to drive further North about 0.5-1km till you see a Manja Shelter sign. From there give yourself about 1.5 hours to trek uphill and back. (A small section has boardwalk). Follow the track all the way till it ends. The art is amazing with handprints, figurines, and animal tracks drawings."

C J How

"The walk up from the back of the car parking area, which is just that - an area to park. The walk is very well maintained and even has boardwalk for part of the way. Its a little longer than you expect as you walk past other rock formations thinking you are there. Not the greatest of art sites, there are just a few hand prints and some other markings you may have missed if it wasn't for the signs pointing them out."

Paul Taylor

"Amazing country. Hard to find with GPS, no signage on Harrop Track. In the end we never found Manja Shelter but did have a good walk anyway"
