Potentially dumb question about being in Brisbane.

I grew up on the edge of a Queensland country town in some bushland. I moved to a city for uni, and realised when living here just how much I need that connection to the bush for my sense of self and feeling of serenity. Thankfully I've been able to find parks here that have…

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Karawatha Forest Park for its well-maintained walking tracks, family-friendly atmosphere, and the engaging Discovery Centre. It's highlighted as a great place for connecting with nature, enjoying picnics, and spending quality time outdoors. Some find the Discovery Centre's storm simulator intense for very young children.

"Great hub for education, fun activities, picnic and walking. I enjoyed the 12km bush walk combined several walking tracks. So many tracks here! Tracks are spacious and nicely maintained. It’s great that dogs are also allowed on leash 🐕"

"Interesting place to go. Wheelchair friendly. Plenty of things to do and see. With a few walking trails to do as well. Plenty of picnic tables and toilets are close by as well. Well maintained area around the playground. Highly recommend going to have a look 🙂🙂."

Ruth Mavroleon

"great walking path for all young and old, with or without pushing pram 😉… there is sufficient open green space for the kids to run around. There is a section of play obstacle for the young ones to expend their energy. There are ample benches to sit on, but bring a mat to sit around on the greens, it’s comfortable. The indoor discovery is rather small, but packed with lots of information for young minds. The storm simulator is very enjoyable (for me), but can be intimidating for the young ones. Walking into a night storm can be unsettling (parental presence will help put away the fears).

All up, it’s a good place to visit and spend couple of hours connecting with nature. But do take care of the foliage and be sure to keep the grounds litter free :)"
