What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Caloundra Lighthouses for their stunning coastal views and the passionate, informative volunteers who share local history. The affordable entry fee and the opportunity to learn about maritime heritage are significant draws. Some visitors note that the opening times are limited, so planning ahead is essential.
"Good to see these beauties being preserved by a group of volunteers called "Friends of the Lighthouses." Only opened on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month for tours at a cost of $5. I'll put this on my bucket list for next time I'm around this area. The views over Kings Beach are amazing from the base of lighthouses! Imagine them from the top!
The main "modern" one was decommissioned in 1992 due to the increase in high-rise buildings in the area.
I think this is of interest to those interested in old buildings/structures/history. Come and check them out!"

"Lovely volunteers welcomed us and shared information about the lighthouses' construction and general history of the region. Great views from the top - you can borrow binoculars to observe whales migrating, and lots of interesting objects, photos and newspaper clippings to look at, like a mini museum. Highly recommend a visit for history buffs and lighthouse enthusiasts ☺️ Well worth the $5 entry (FYI they accept both card and cash payments)."
