Visitors consistently highlight the natural beauty and the relaxing atmosphere, making it a must-visit spot in the Northern Territory. Some minor concerns include limited parking and the need for constant vigilance regarding wildlife.

"Lovely warm and crystal clear creek, the current will take you along the palm, paper bark and pandan trees. Get a pool noodle and enjoy the scenery. If you go early or late you can see some turtles too!"

Krisztina Babik

"We stayed at the Bitter Springs caravan park for 3 nights.
Take a leisurely 8 minute stroll to the Bitter Springs. Life doesn't get much better. The water is warm and clear. Bring a noodle or 2, and just let the current take you to the bridge, get out, walk back and repeat. No cost, just need the parks pass. Didn't see any fish, but there were a number of turtles, so bring goggles and a new world will be opened up to you.
Although fully paved with concrete paths, unfortunately no ramp or easy access for disabled, other than physically lifting in and out of the water."

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What a breathtakingly beautiful spot! My wife and I visited Bitter Springs in Mataranka and absolutely loved it. The swim downstream was fantastic – crystal-clear water at the perfect temperature, so relaxing and refreshing. I highly recommend bringing a pool noodle or float so you can just drift along with the current and take in the scenery. An absolute must-visit if you’re passing through Mataranka – you won’t be disappointed!"
