"We visited on a Wednesday and there was about 12 of us waiting to go in.
Weather forecast said rain would arrive around 7pm so with umbrellas in hand we aimed to complete the long trail(2.4km) in an hour. This proved to be a great plan.
Signposting was great, and there were staff along the trails to point you the right way if unsure, which was great. All staff were friendly and seemed genuinely happy to see us there.
As the sun got lower in the sky, and the moon rose, we started to get a sense of what the lights would get like, but it was when darkness set it it all came to life.
It felt like walking through an alien landscape, especially once you were separated from other groups and could enjoy it as a peacefully, immersive experience.
We wandered happily around taking photos and it was only as we neared the exit gate that we felt the first drops of rain. An hour was plenty of time, and we raced back to the car just before the heavier rain started!
This was a lovely experience. Would be very interested in returning for FOSO later in the year."
